Honda EU2000i Recall

In the Feb. '13 issue of Consumer Reports I found a recall on Honda EU2000i generators.

The recall says that the fuel hose can leak posing risks of fire and burns.

The recall affects 150,600 generators manufactured between Oct. 2011 and Sept. 2012.

The recall says you should stop using the generator and call an American Honda dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. You can also call the company at 888-888-3139.
 
Thanks, saw that, I think it was posted here too. We thought that a few of them might still be on a shelf somewhere waiting for all the Chinese and Indian knockoffs to quit after a month or three :roll: .

Anyone here have one of the recalled ones? You can bet you won't see a recall on the knockoffs! :thup

Thanks for the heads up. Called with serial # of one I purchased about a year ago.
Sure enough one being recalled. They said to take to either one of our two Honda dealers for repair. New to Honda outboards the last few years, but have been using their water pumps for the last 20 plus years on a daily basis and don't think they could be beat for dependability . thanks again
 
I have one of the recalled generators and the fix was quick and easy. While the repair job was estimated to take about 90 minutes, I just left the generator with the dealer (Camping World) and picked it up the next day. Of course, no charge for the repair.
