HOLY NIP-N-TUCK BOATMAN......

Perhaps you'll see it in person one day, Charlie. One of my hopes is to take the boat from D.C. down the Potomac to the bay. Do I see you're off Cod Creek on the VA side?

I'd love to check out Mallows Bay across the river from Quantico Marine Base. It's where the government has scuttled un-needed naval vessels, apparently back as far as Revolutionary War boats. The majority of boats there seem to be WWI vintage; most of which were completed too late for the war. Congress only authorized their disposal in the early/mid 1960s... Can't rush Congress... Sorry, not getting political here...

Can't wait to roll the boat...

Been there Tom, done that. A neat place but under whelming unless you're a diver. A place a little soutn of that, Wade's Bay has a lot of shark's teeth, used to pull in there on a Pearson 26 and a few assorted power boats, walk the beach and pick up a paper cup of them.!

My mother's relatives had a cabin at Scientist's Cliffs. Talk about shark's teeth... ...they were all over the place; we just weren't allowed to dig them out of the cliffs. Lots of fun.

I hear you about Mallow's Bay. Probably better seen from the air - see Google Earth - or a diver's mask.

Update: The boat is flipped and back in the shop. I'm beat so the pics will have to tell the story.

Those Tolmans are nice-looking boats. For the time being though, I think I'll stick to fixin' up the one I have. That's enough challenge for now... :crook Other than the hull design I'm making it up as I go.
