I have uploaded quite a few photos from my computer's hard drive. Here's what I do:
1) Size them appropriately and put them in a folder where I'll be able to find them (because the C-Dory forum will want you to "browse" for them).
2) Go to my photo album here on the site (there is a link to it below your name in each post, but what I do to make it easier is have a bookmark for my album).
3) Once you are in your album, look at the upper right area, just above any existing photos, and you will see an options box that says "album actions." If you click to get the drop down menu, the first option will be "add photos."
4) Once you click "add photos" you will get a special window that lets you select photos from your hard drive by "browsing" it (this is where the folder you made helps). Choose each photo individually - the window pretty much leads you along - and then add them.
5) If you want to add one (or more) photos in a post, first go to to one in your album, enlarge it past the thumbnail, then copy its properties/address (image address on a Mac; I forget the wording on Windows), paste that into the text box of your post, and then highlight it and click "Img" up above the text box. Do this for each photo.
6) When you are done writing your photo'ed post, instead of directly Submitting, Preview it. If the image doesn't show up properly it won't do so in a post either. I find that sometimes the problem is that the final Img tag gets put on a following line. Anyway, Preview allows any problems to be caught/corrected.
