Hello from new C-Brats

Spirit

New member
Greetings from Montana. We are the couple fortunate enough to be purchasing the Anna Leigh which we understand has been unnamed in order to be reborn as Spirit.

We are 50 something brats living in a canyon in the Helena National Forest, 2 miles from the Missouri River and Hauser Lake. The children now all have children so we can finally go play.

We are coming to the Seattle area this weekend to bring Spirit home but first we intend to enjoy the hospitality of David and Kate and meet up with some more experienced c-brats! We also plan on cruising the San Juans and possibly beyond this summer.

Last several weeks we have been living the c-brat life vicariously on the web site and on the telephone with David. Looking forward to meeting and learning from all of you.

Hi Jo and David! Welcome to your new affliction. You are going to find you got a whole bunch more than a boat in this deal. Plus, you got yourselves a fantastic boat that is better than brand new in many ways.

You will find your new photo album linked to the left of all your message posts with your profile info. You can also find it on the Our C-Dorys album list in alphabetical order (page 16 right now, I think). For the time being, the album permissions are set up to allow Anna Leigh David to post pictures to it, as well as you. We'll boot him off your album when you head home with the newly christened Spirit on the trailer.

Congratulations! I, as so many others on here, look forward to meeting you soon.

Mike (TyBoo)

Welcome to the C-Brats and the world of C-Dorys! Also nice to 'hear" from Montanans. Montana (Billings) was my home for Jr. High, High School, and after the Army for college. (Worked on a ranch near Victor while in high school).
You are certainly purchasing a fine vessel with many extras specially manufactured by David!

Welcome to the pub. susan and I will be at the gathering this weekend so will see you there. We just spent the weekend in the islands again. the weahter was cold but the wind was light. blakley island was great as always.

Congrats, and a fine name for your boat. We've had some delightful cruises in the company of David and Karen on Anna Leigh and look forward to some cruising with you folks on Spirit. you've made a fine choice of boat and you purchased from two blue-ribbon people, who really took care of their boat. Enjoy your Spirit.

Congratulations, Jo and David..

Ron and Kathy here in Spokane, right in line with your trip to the West Coast to pick up your new boat. Snoopy-C is our 22 ft cruiser, and we love the heck out of it. I use the boat mostly on Lake Coeur d'Alene, but occasionally off Barkley Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. I've been wanting to join the "Brats" on one of the ventures around the Seattle area, but it hasn't worked out for us yet. Soon, though. I'll bet the folks will really pay attention to you guys when you trip through the Gates of the Mountains at your home base. By the way, I grew up and went to college in Butte, and recently retired after 30+ years in Spokane. If you have any questions that I can answer as you are traveling back to Helena, you can give me a holler in Spokane. Another "Brat" just got a C-Dory in Spokane -- CAVU. Looks like were getting I-90 covered pretty well. Enjoy the boat -- I'm sure you will. Ron (aka Digger) on Snoopy-C

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. We are getting pretty excited around here as the countdown ticks away. We are leaving for Seattle tomorrow and plan to be on the 11:00 o'clock ferry to Guemes Island on Saturday.

Welcome aboard Spirit!

We take delivery of a new 22 cruiser in May.

Spirit is a great name. We should know because it was the name of the sailboat we just sold after 18 years of cruising!

We considered naming our new boat Spirit, also, but my wife wanted a new name for OUR boat. Spirit was owned by me before we got married and I think she associated the old boat with some former girlfriends of mine.

I understood completely, so the new C-Dory will be named Valkyrie.

Good luck and enjoy your new boat!

Nick

It is Monday morning. David and Jo are at the Snoqualmie Inn B&B just waking up with Spirit in the parking lot. I will be heading there from Guemes Is.on the 6:30 ferry to meet them at the Credit Union at 9 AM to actually sign the title over to them and they will be on their way back to MT.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and have them stay at our home Saturday night after the day cruise with the other boats up to West Sound, Orcas Is. When they left on the ferry yesterday David said "you know this is not just a boat sale, this is the beginning of a new friendship". And I can't agree more. I have met more really nice people in the last two years than I could have ever imagined. Really looking forward to their return in July for their family get-together in the San Juans and then again in September having them along to Desolution Sound.

I have posted a couple of pictures in Spirits new album (page 16). As I see more that were taken by others I will copy them to their album also.
