Happy Birthday Sawdust!

Dusty, happy birthday and my best wishes for a great year to come.

You have a great bunch of friends here.

My hats off to you and to your friends for organizing this - great job!

Regards, Rob

What a thrill for the ancient one to get all of the birthday messages. Thanks a million to each of you and sure hope to see many of you soon. I still shrimp and crab on friends C Dories -- and miss the good old days. A ton of fond memories.

Love,

Dusty

Dusty, sorry I missed wishing you a happy shared birthday yesterday. But as you can see by another post, I was on the water catching a few fish and with the reeling and casting, didn't have time to log in here. Hope you had a great one and hope to have time to stop up that way sometime for a visit.

Wow! I just found out that Sawdust aka Dusty aka Captain Les Lampman USN (Ret) was actually onboard the USS Missouri in 1945 when the treaty was signed by the Japanese in Tokyo Harbor.

He had been stationed on the USS Monterey (a carrier) and pilots were invited to attend. I sent him some 8X10 B&W pictures I have of the signing, once he sends them back, I'll post a few and we'll see if we can find him in the crowd. There are a lot I didn't send too. He said his squadron plaque is in the Navy Museum here in the Washington Navy Yard (The old gun factory) and I'll try to get a picture of it the next time I'm up there.

History, History.

Charlie

How many folks remember this rainy, rainy March day in Olympia in 2003? We christened Dusty's C-Salt, the Tomcat 24, and Pat and Patty's Daydream, the CD22 Cruiser, that day!

I remember that day and weekend very well! Lot's of great memories!

Dusty, Congratulations on another fine year, and here's wishes for many more. Thank you for all your service, and for your influence here.

Here's to many more.
