Halcyon News

Bill,
Good to hear you are doing OK. Can't imagine a pair of 'ol salts like you ignoring the warning signs but... don't we all. Bet you don't stop to ask for directions either !!!
Good luck with the stent. I hate engineers with Chrome tools (and rubber gloves)

Best wishes. I know this was harder on you El. Bill - do listen to the nurse for a bit. The hardest part will be the decaf. Just thinking of you.

Kind regards,

Hi El & Bill,

Hope the Engine work goes well, and the break in period goes smoothly. Remember, the engine will last longer if broken in slowly, and kept well lubricated ( Preferably with Irish Mist).

Bill,

We hope that you have a speedy and complete recovery. Everytime we see your namesake, the kingfisher, we think of you and El. I will send you a recent pic or two soon.
I know that El is taking good care of you and hope you get back to the Tennessee River area soon.

Best Wishes,

Bill---More RED CAT---EL---Keep his glass full!---Love you both.

Nice to hear from friends -- thanks. And, Terry, all the brain docs confirm that Red Cat is a good lubricant for the engine -- one even knew the brand (but hadn't had it for years)!

Checked out of the high-priced engine shop yesterday pm, and nice to be home, although the folks in the shop were great. So many smiling faces one really felt like royalty (until they jab you with a poker). So all's well here -- I can self jab with the go juice here at home and keep a personal eye on the control panel for the engine functions.

Thanks for the kind words, folks -- always nice to hear from friends. Now back on course and looking forward to getting back to the 'real world' of water -- and reading C-Brat posting.

Bill...sorry about the delayed response here. Had a few days on the road in the truck rather than on the boat...and just now getting back on lline. Take care of yourself Brother...and... you know... a nice slow cruise on the Cumberland with friends all around you might be in order!! Come on over again... and keep me posted on your future work and travel. We always have a bedroom for you and El for a littel recovery time if needed...and you can even have one of the rooms overlooking the river if the boat is a bit much for you. Small bunch of us going to be gathered here in late April. Wish you two could drop in....even if you have to leave Halcyon behind.

We're aground, so wanted to share our experience -- before rumor or outright tall tales circulate -- this way you get it straight from the horse's .... uh, mouth. [snips]

As with the others - good wishes and prayers from our home to yours.

As for me - been there done that - sorta. No opening the engine cover for me tho... Just a long reach from below into the engine to deposit stents. Twice now.

For me - and your mileage may vary per your docs orders - I've gotta keep the oil thinner (Plavix & asprin) and reduce the sludge (Zocor) and reduce the oil pressure, (Lotensin).

Not so bad I 'spose - 4 pills a day to make sure that I get to see more than my grandson's 2nd birthday tomorrow.

Please do follow your docs recommendations so that we all can continue to enjoy the chronicles of your adventures on Halcyon.

Best to you and yours,

Leo

Bill & El,
You are probably home by now and feeling a whole lot better. You both sound upbeat and ready to get back at it. Your kind words to me when I had engine problems and was ready to give up boating kind of put things back in prospective. As you know I even got a new boat. Now I am hurrying to squeeze as many boat trips in as I can.

We just got back from a good shake down cruise and am catching up on the Brats news or I would have have posted a get well much earlier.
What hospital did you go to for that kind of food. I lost 30 lbs, Does that tell you anything?

Bill and El,

Like Byrdman we were on a little road trip so missed all the "excitement" this past week (610 posts missed). Glad to hear you're home and recovering nicely. You certainly do have the "Best Nurse in the World" (El) and just being near Halcyon has got to put a smile on your face.

And, like so many others have said, both of you continue to inspire us with your adventures. As newbies we look fwd to meeting you some day. Naturally, if you are ever in the Lake Superior area, you have a free B&B awaiting you at the Foxy Lady residence. You are our heros.

Get healthy and keep smiling. :hug :love :hug2
