Just downloaded Bill and El Fiero's BOOK, Halcyon Days: Cruising America from Amazon to my Galaxy Tab 3! Have read it many times before as one of the most amazing websites in existence, will love having it offline! As most people here know, Bill and El retired at 50, sold EVERYTHING, and traveled just about everywhere a boat can go, living either on their small boat or pickup camper. A GREAT read for anybody, highly recommended! Kudos to Brad and Bryce Fiero for helping get this project done!

Pat and Patty--
Just got an email from Amazon.com.

Are you sitting down?

We are #10 on Amazon's best seller book list!

Well, drilling down, we are #10 on their eKindle booklist for Travel US.

Thanks for buying that book -- that probably was #25 and now our royalty might buy us a cuppa at Starbucks.🌞

Hey, El and Bill. You're much loved CBrats, and I am not surprised at the sales. Not just the Brats, but good reading for anyone with an interest in freedom, boating and/or travel.

I hope my purchase adds to the coffee fund!! :D :D

I wanted to finally read the book...all together... so I downloaded an APP to make my computer Kindle friendly...went to Amizon and bought the book... I am really pleased.... it is fun to read...

Thanks for finally putting it into book form... I love it.

You will probably get picked up by the Travel Channel and be alongside the great Rick Steves soon

Nice job on the book. I started with the free loan that comes with my Amazon Prime Unlimited subscription, but like it enough that, half way through, I went ahead and bough a copy I wouldn't have to return.

Forgot to add... It was interesting reading of the mention of the River Horse book as I had just completed that before you posted about your book. It was cool reading two books in a row featuring the C-Dory.

El and Bill.... I have been reading your book....like a fine wine, just a chapter at a time...and enjoying it more than I have enjoyed any book in years..... it is so neat .... knowing you all these years and now reading your philosophy of long cruising ... how you did it and what it's all about...

Years ago. when we were at Lake Powell I felt like you were teaching a great course in Geology...and I should get at least 3 units of credit... now,
I feel I am learning from the Masters... I so much enjoy your company...

Joel --
Thanks for your comments-- glad you are enjoying the book. Meeting folks like you is the real joy of cruising -- the scenery and nature are wonderful, but sharing that with good friends is the real pleasure in life for us -- and our cruising together with you and other great cruising folks was such a delight.
Now we're back cruising (mostly) ashore. We've been hanging out in our Rockies for a few months, after returning from our commercial boat cruise across the southern Arctic Ocean, from near Alaska to Greenland through the Canadian islands.
Best to you. El and Bill

Good to hear of your book. Is it in print or just electronic form?
Your posting on this site caused us to buy our C-Dory. If we had purchased the C-Dory first We would have a lot more money in the bank! All of our bigger boats were nice, but, till it is all said an done we had more fun with the C-Dory.

We are still boat less and will probably remain so-my shoulders have worn out and I can't even paddle a kayak. Life is good
and I am back to playing and singing music with a ukulele.

We still have the Roadtrek motor home and will be in Florida from Jan. to the end of March. We camp at the Corp. of Engineers camps along the ICW We usually catch up with Terry of Last Dance fame and talk about you at least once during the winter.

Good luck with the book I can,t wait to read it.

As some of you know, I'm not too adept at some of this computer stuff, but I finally got it done, with the help of a nice lady from Amazon, the book is now a resident on my Android Tablet. It looks great and I just read to Chapter 3. I really like their style.

Thanks El and Bill for your inspiration and to whoever supplied the link here. It helped emmensly.

:thup I just downloaded the Kindle-book and am looking greatly forward to reading it.

This is my first Kindle download, if that gives you any indication how important I consider this reading to be!

Can't wait to get it. Starting in about 2004 I used to get up in the morning and everyday look to see what El and Bill were up to. For many years afterward I would just dream of getting a C-Dory for myself and Colleen. Our dreams have come true and we have much thanks to El and Bill. :)

If only that boat could talk. It's two spaces over from me right now. I'm currently in the Apostle Islands area and just had dinner at Halcyon's current owners home. They are all doing fine! :D Colby

Bill and El, I am ordering several of your books, and meeting you both several years ago was a pleasure. Your writing has inspired me for years and has made us all more keen observers of nature and the world we live in. Roger Juntunen In CaHoots Idaho

Such a great progression. I have used that site often, and frequently refer others. Glad to hear both El and Bill and Halcyon and new crew are all doing fine. Thanks for that update Colby.

Not sure if I can pull it off on the tablet, but one of my favorite C-Dory group photos is from the Bellingham CBGT, with Halcyon at the front of the line, a very proper position representing their place in leading many of us to new waters. I will try and post it here. (Not always successeful on the tablet.)
