I had been wanting a new goretex parka for some time since my old Cabela's parka was 20+ years old. ...but nothing really stoked my fires, and the prices were out of this World

Then I checked Cabela's again - there it is!

This parka is normally $250, but on sale for $120 (on closeout). I ordered one both for both Tanner and myself. They were just delivered, and it appears to be a Really good, well made piece of gear. I'm delighted.

...just in case you're at loose ends in your Christmas shopping!

Ooh ... and it'll work well on the boat (just had to throw that in, to keep this a boating topic!)

Hi Casey,

That coat DOES work well on the boat. Pair it up with some waterproof pants, and you have a great set of foulies. Ours are a few years older, yellow and navy blue, but look to be the same style of coat, also from Cabela's. They wear great, shed water nicely, are warm (leave room for layers), and breathe.

It should serve you well.

If you didn't see the shot of Roger, Joe, Ruth, and Joan picking peas in the cold and rain from a few years ago...

Yep, that's Joan in that Cabela's coat. We like 'em! :thup

Best wishes,
Jim
