Goodbye Oscar

Patty here. At 5:30am this morning, minutes before Pat was pulling out for his "big adventure," Oscar was hit by a car and left crying in the street. He died of his injuries less than half an hour later as I tried to get him to emergency care. It's a very sad day, a day which held such promise as the Alaska Adventure begins.

Oh my, our hearts go out to you two. I know how devastated you must be right now. Oscar was an intimate part of your life and he will be mourned by everyone he touched in his short life.

Virtual hugs to you both.

That breaks my heart. I feel very sad and lonely for you three. Never have I believed that reading about a lost dog could bring a tear to my eye, but this one sure did. Since I am much too tough to cry for a puppy, it must be for Patty and Pat and Austin.

We're both sorry to hear about your loss. We know how close our dogs are to us; they're our kids.

Unfortunately, Valkyrie, our little Airedale after whom our boat is named, has cancer and we know that we will be facing the same thing some time in the future.

Marcia and I are thinking of you.

I am so sorry to hear about Oscar. It is a sad day in the C-Brat community. We will miss visiting with him at the gatherings.
Our thoughts are with you.

Pat and Patty,

We're so sorry to hear about Oscar. He was a special little guy and a part of your family. We're thinking of you today.

Pat, Patty and Austin,
This news just made my morning a sad morning. Not only have we as C-Brats become such close friends as humans, we've become close friends with our member's four legged family members (who we all know are part of the family). I feel privileged to have known Oscar and will savor the memories! Our thoughts go out to you!

Words escape me...so many of us know what you're going through, and only time, friends and family can help ease the pain.

Love and hugs,

Bill and Dana

Pat and Patty,

I wish I could say or do something that would help. I'm very sorry to hear of your loss - such a good companion, good cruiser and a fine canine member of the C-brat family. I'll give my dog a few extra hugs and scratches behind the ears today.

Thinking of you two (and Austin) with fondness and a little sadness today,

Very sorry to hear of your loss of Oscar. Having been there I know how traumatic it is. The memories and the good times fortunately will be forever and that is indeed a special gift.

That is the saddest thing we've heard in a long while, and we didn't even know the little feller. Our hearts go out to you in your loss.

Pat, Patty & Austin,

As we looked out over a very foggy Bellingham this morning, we
were thinking about the Daydream family getting ready for their
Alaska adventure and certainly never expected to read the sad
news about Oscar. He was such a wonderful part of the C-Brat
gatherings. We will miss him very much.

Sincerely,

Ruth & Joe

I know your pain, I still grieve for my first dog, it was like loosing a child, non-dog folks just don't understand the loss.
My thoughts are with you, and Oscar....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Patti and I are so sorry for you. Our dogs are a huge part of our life and we lost one traumatically, so we know what a sad shock it is

Dear Pat, Patty, and Austin.

Even though we haven't met face to face yet, we know you by your kind words here. This is heartbreaking news. Those of us who have had our lives blessed by the companionship of a "furry kid" understand the great loss you feel. Please know that your C-Brat family will keep you in our thoughts. Oscar was an obvious favorite here and will be missed.

Our sincere sympathies,
Jim & Joan Bathurst

Pat, Patty, and Austin-

I'm so sory to hear about your loss of Oscar. I know he was so dear to and loved by you. Only another pet lover knows the great depth of such a loss. Time will heal your pain, and fond memories will always be with you of your time together with your beloved Oscar.

Joe.
