Oh well, the best laid plans, etc etc....

Had planned on splashing THATAWAY this afternoon (for the first time), but KATIA is probably going to change all that! Another lady storm...

Too early to predict too accurately but it sure doesn't look good unless she picks up her skirts and turns more Northerly.

Keep everything crossed!! :thup

Gotta get more propane for genset. Burned 25% of our 400 gallons during the 5 days we were without power!!

Charlie,
How long will the generator run on one of those little green bottles they sell to the campers?

Haven't calculated that. I do know that it ran from about 2PM on Saturday 27 August until about the same time on Thursday 1 Sept. Total of 5 days, 120 hours or so. Used about 25% of the 400 gallons of propane in my 500 gallon underground tank. 100 gallons, 1.2 GPH.

If a little bottle is 16 oz., that's 1/8 of a gallon (I think). So, it would use 800 bottles in the time that my generator ran. Don't know how much each bottle cost but my propane cost about $2.50 a gallon, or $250 for the 5 days. Even if a 16oz. bottle of propane cost a buck, mine is a lot cheaper!!

To answer your question, a 16 oz. bottle of propane would last about 10 minutes! And, the juice would be out while you changed bottles...

Anyone is free to correct my math!!

Got Gas?? Lots of Gas?? D.D. I know your question was somewhat in jest  but the engineer in me can't deal with that!.
