Thank you so much for posting those links. A part of the story I had not known. I am torn. I understand the beauty and wildness of the canyon before the dam. But most likely, I would have never visited it was it not for Lake Powell. I was on a 14 day raft trip thru the Grand Canyon in 1976 when I first saw Lake Powell--staying the night before we shoved off from Marble Canyon at Wahweap Lodge. I never dreamed that almost 30 years later, I would find it to be both Marie and my favorite cruising grounds.

I guess at this point in life, I would have rather seen it in its natural state....

What a lady!
