Gestating...

I just heard from Scott at the factory, and I am so excited I could just burst! Our CD-25 will be coming out of the molds soon... and will be a real boat! :D I just had to tell someone, and I know y'all here would understand my unabashed glee.

The countdown continues... 9 days (6 working days) 'till I am gainfully unemployed. I told Scott that I wouldn't be a pest (I have only called the factory twice since we ordered the boat at the SBS... and that was to add other stuff). The factory guys (Scott and Jeff) have been so cooperative in working with our schedule - and we are very appreciative. Scott said he would be sending me some photos by the end of the week; I have no grandkids, so I will be showing these around. Then, I can ask for my very own photo page here, too.

I suppose "birth announcements" would be too much? :wink

Thanks for listening.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Congratulations, Jim! What color? You know, I saw some post on another thread about the horsepower question: Is 135 enough, etc.. You probably already know this, but I think the 135 Honda is just a 'de-tuned' 150. If I am remembering correctly, if you get a 150, it will act just like a 135 economy-wise, until you need the extra horsepower. So, if you are wondering about the 135 being enough when very heavily loade, you could opt for the 150 and just have those extra 15 ponies in the barn until needed.
Of course, Scott and many others have been using the 135 with no problems for years... John

Cheers Jim.... That is great news. Send a PM to Tyboo or DaNag and they can/will set you up with a photo album. ....so you will be ready when they send you the "MRI" photos. I know just how you feel. I keep checking my email about 10 times a day in hopes of a new photo of the C-Byrd rework... You will love the boat for sure.

She is blue... hence the name, "Wild Blue". But the "birth announcements" - I guess pink would be more appropriate, huh? They (boats) are all female from my upbringing. We are very anxious to meet this lady in person.

Thanks for understanding, folks. The past three months is the longest we've gone without being aboard one of our boats (we did have some friends who took pity on us and took us sailing and racing) in many years. This forum has be SO great in helping me maintain my (often questionable) sanity. What a tremendous resource.

Many thanks and best wishes,
Jim B.

"Pink for a blue lady"
Sounds like it could be a movie. :star :film
But this movie will not be a :unlove.
Unfortunately it will just get harder for the wait from here, but boy what an ending. :rainbow :rose :cocktail

Congrats Jim. I and many many others know EXACTLY how you feel. Please post ALL pictures you get or take, we love pictures...! Funny how an object like a boat, no, a C-Dory, takes on a human-like personality. Not many of my previous 14 boats did THAT, in fact none, just more that I 'liked' the boat.

Then, I can ask for my very own photo page here, too.

How appropriate - there are some new words in the profile info alongside your posts, and they are blue!

Real happy for you!!

Thanks, Mike. I've added a few photos (so the file won't be empty); but we'll be looking foward to lots more when we get the new boat. In 9 days, I'll be retiring after 31 years as a professional photographer. Would it be appropriate to post some images of the marine photo-art that we have in galleries in south Texas? Not as a sales piece, but to show some of what we will be doing with our CD-25.

Thanks,
Jim B.

Jim and Joan:

Congratulations!! We know the thrill. How exciting. Hope you warm water folks will venture up here to the cold PNW waters so we can see her (and you of course).

By the way, would James TXSD be related to my old signature line in another world: Barry MTCBPD??

Well, James, after seeing your 'professional' pics, I am really intimidated about the quality of what I might post when I finally get my boat. Those are like works of art! I guess someone has to set the bar! John

Oops,
I see from your last message that JamesTXSD is not related to BarryMTCBPD, and from your photos that we are about to be privileged with more great pictures.

Will you take delivery up here or is she being transported to the "Tropical
Tip of Texas" by somebody else?

We will be coming to the Northwest to pick up our C-Dory; plan to shake down there for a couple weeks (depending on the timing) and then take our time getting back to Texas (after the hurricane season would be good). We sure hope to meet up with some of the C-Brats in the area while we're there. I'm eyeing that Catalina Island gathering, and hoping we can make that work. Once we actually have the boat, our schedule is pretty slack. We've lived by our appointment book for 31 years... I plan to leave my watch in a drawer and have no schedule.

Joan picked up a cruising guide that Tom recommended for the NW... right now, we're up to our eyeballs in getting the new staff trained and ourselves packed... but our time is coming.

Best wishes,
Jim B.
