Gas and water cap seals

I have a 1992 22’ C Dory. I’ve measured the seals at 1.5” and when I ordered 1.5” replacements, they are too big. Does anyone have a site or place where they have found new seals that fit? The gas seals are overdue for replacement and the water seal is completely absent.

Any hardware store should have these "O" rings. Best to take the old one with you. It is not only the diameter of the ring as it fits into the cap, , but of the cross section of the actual "O" ring--ie 1/8"

Best to get nitrile composition. I like to keep them dressed with a small amount of silicone grease.

Large ones: https://www.theoringstore.com/store/ind ... ts_id=1208

Buy 10 for less than one from any marine supply I could find. One place wanted $12 for one o-ring.

Small ones are Danco #50. I found them at Ace. Danco supplies plumbing products.

if the Danco ones are for plumbing, are they suitable for exposure to gasoline? Wouldn't want the O-rings to turn to goo.

The small ones on our boat are water and waste only.
The larger ones I ordered are for gas. From their website:

Buna-N / Nitrile Recommended uses:

General purpose sealing.
Petroleum oils and fluids.
Gasoline
