We have replaced the factory helm seat in C-Cakes and the factory seat is available free to any C-Brat. It is new in 2006, Charcoal Sunbrella and unstained or damaged. I will be glad to bring it to the Bellingham CBGT or ship it (at your expense ) if you are off in the hinterlands somewhere. PM me if you have any interest.

Grumpy,

With a stiff and bruised transom I can now finally understand why you're called Grumpy :P .

The new seat is a Tempress Navistyle, $109 at Sportsman's Warehouse in Burlington. Given a side-by-side (or should I say Seat by Seat), comparison for a similar number of hours at the helm my transom is a lot less stiff and bruised with the new seat. It, (the seat-not my transom), will be available for viewing at Bellingham

Barry,

Adds new meaning to the term Rear Admiral.
Look forward to seeing the new "seat" I hope it does not have doggy bags or composting toilet built-in.(per another thread)
I was thinking that since I spend so much of my life flying I would get seat 12K off a BA 747-400 because I figure I have paid for it many times over.

I would definitely be interested if you had two of them. My boat has two helmsman seats.
I recently replaced my original seats with some Cabellas big man models. They are awful and very uncomfortable. After 5 hours trolling "the bottom" and wife are complaining loudly.
My present plan is to get a re-upholstry price on the old ones and go from there. :x

Got the reupholsery price today. $120 each and the man said those are old crappy seats. Junk them and get new ones from a catalog. I did that already but those turned out to be new crappy seats.
Will start a new search tomorrow.

Do you like your new seat? Does the back fold flat? Did it take any special hardware to mount it? Maybe you could post a picture. We are looking for a new helm seat and would be interested in what you and others have to say about replacements. Thanks!!!!
Margaret
