Gates offers its free Serpentine Belt Wear Guage after filling out a short form. The gauge will allow you to assess wear on a multi-ribbed serpentine belt – either on the engine or off. Limit one gauge per person.

It'll be interesting to see

1.) to what extent this is just a wear gauge,

2.) how much it measures something that one can't already see, and

3.) to what degree it might be used as a sales tool to sell new belts! (?)

I have to analyse a lot of Gates timing belts at work and they have very explicit documents with pictures for GT2 belts, Polychain etc. I've never looked at Poly-vee belts but they may have something at their Website under Gates Facts , White Papers, or One of their design guides. You have to register at the site to access.
