Force 10 Propane. Regrets??

Do any of you have any regrets with a Force 10 Cozy Cabin heater?????

I have a uninstalled Dickerson Newport Diesel heater that I want to trade a guy for a Force 10 Propane Cozy cabin heater. The reason for a trade is that Im not crazy about cutting a chimney hole in the roof. Now I like ripping into stuff as much as the next guy but the stove pipe looks like a charged 2 1/2" fire hose. Pretty big for a small stove.

Just get a Wallas you say?

Love the Wallas concept but the money needed to get one is unreasonable to me. For the cost the of the Wallas stove they should be gold plated and bullet proof in function. Granted I do not own one so I shouldn't be knockin the Wallas but I have read plenty of posts about worrisome Wallas woes. ( say that three times fast) ............Makes me a little gun shy of the Wallas.

I recall a few Alaska fellows speaking kind things about a Force 10 Cozy Cabin heater.

Thanks

I have used other Force 10 products and they are first class. I also had a Dickerson heater (larger model) and had problems with back drafting. The only negitive with the propane, is that it uses propane, which means the tank vented overboard, sniffer, and relitatively expensive marine fuel--but what marine fuel isn't expensive? I would be persuaded to use that Force 10 pretty easily--always easier to cut a large hole after a small one than visa versa!

Chris-

I've had a Force 10 Cozy Cabin propane heater with the requisite alarms/controls for several years now and love it.

Simple and straight forward. Requires a 1" pipe with a somewhat larger ~2" hole through the roof. Easy!

See my installation here. There are several others of various types, too. Look at BILLY'S!

Chris,

I know Wallas has been getting a bad rap lately, but you might want to consider what I did. I kept my alcohol stove (love it) and installed a Wallas 1300 forced air heater, bought it from Scan Marine, not as expensive as the stove/heater combo. Simple installation, you can see the install pictures in my album. So far (less than a year) it has worked perfectly. Time will tell if it continues. I only use Klean Heat. Discussion thread is here.
