Thanks for posting the link. The on board cameras, give a great perspective of what these races are about. The next generation are monohull foilers. This will give them a bit more speed.
I am not happy I had to give up ocean racing and sailing---but life moves on.. and that is a young man's sport...Brings back some memories. We were doing 10 knots and happy to occasionally see sustained 16 knots. These guys are doing 20 knots and happy to see the 30+ knots of boat speed.
What many don't realize is how noisy an ocean racer is. The sound of the water, the crew on deck running around, (Like a herd of elephants) the sound of winches, and pulleys, plus water in the boat, being wet, cold and fatigued....3 hours on, 3 hours off watch...Plus the occasional "all hands on deck"...
