Florida West Coast

I,m looking for a post from El & Bill about Florida West Coast anchorages. I saw it before we left NY last week when I was looking at old post and thought that while I'm down here in Ft. Myers it would be very handy. Now I can't find where I saved it. We will be here till mid May and planed on doing some gunk- holeing on the Gulf side. I have my paper charts, but thought if I could get some local knowledge that would be extreamly helpful. So if anyone can give me some info me & the misses would be very appreciative.
Plan-B is biting at the hook for some cruising and fishing after leaving all that snow up north.

Make sure to go to Cabbage Key while your there. Great overpriced burgers and drinks. You can only get to it by boat. We passed on the $32. Florida crab claws. Cathy & I were there last week. We went to the ZZ Top concert on the river at Centennial park. If you head into Ft Myers a stop at Ninos for good italian food (can I say italian if I use the word good with it) would be remembered. We had a real smooth day on a friends boat and cruised around Sanibel after lunch at Cabbage Key. A boat with 4 guys in it went down in Boca Grande Pass the day after we were there. I'm not sure when they fish for Tarpon but I'm told thats the place to be. If your staying 'till May you might be in season. Hope you find your charts and have a great time. Jim "Duck" might be able to help you out with some spots. He is out of Naples. His e-mail is widmannfla@aol.com Come to think of it Mike "Papillon" is in that same area. You are for sure covered. This is his web http://www.naples-fl.com
If all else fails let me know. My friends that Cathy & I were with have boated the area for about 30 years. There is a lot of shallow spots and PAY ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER if you head out to the blue !
