He was so thrilled (like a little kid) that he called.... he's on a cruise in Alaska and kept saying..... It's a BIG fish... Ha... now he is hooked on salmon fishing....
I can't wait for em to get back so they can tell me how BIG it really was...
Hope he has pictures....

I wanna see pictures with a current newspaper and PJ in the backround. Seems I've heard this story bfore over cocktails ( only it was a 60 lb'er). :wink
Really, we're glad to hear it since I got skunked on opening at while fishing San Juan Island.
You're the man Roger! (for now). :wink

Pictures! We need pictures! A fish like that doesn't come along very often.
We were happy with our two kings this last Sunday out at Westport, one at 15lbs and one at 32lbs. I'm afraid I would have to hide these runts in the presents of 50lb monster.

I have to admit.....I have never ever caught a salmon...... been out for salmon maybe seven or eight times...... once years ago (34 +) Sue and I went out with my father who loved to fish for salmon......Sue knocked em dead... caught two or three big ones.... I diden't even get a bump.... I even made her trade me poles....nope... so I sulked....

No wonder I can't ever catch fish.......Silly me.... I always thought the hook went into the mouth of the fish......

When I look at that picture real close it sure looks like ole Fishtales used the ole outside hook technique....

Yo Roger, nice fish. When last I fished in B.C. for King Salmon, we used salt water fly rods, fly rod reel, and down riggers. Those reels were called knuckle busters because there was no reverse lockout. When the fish ran against the drag, the reel handle would spin. Talk about exciting fishin'.............! Expect to hear all about it at Catalina.
