fish well

f anyone out there has a 22'angler, mine is a 1997, what powers the fish well on port side rear,,,came with only the tower connected to water intake and would like to use it but figured it must be powered to circulate flow?? Any suggestions or what came with original set-up...thanks. Also when robbers stole electronics and fishing gear they took the stainless cap covering anchor hole....where in the world would you find one?? Is there a c-dory junk yard!

Many of the 22's have the port lazaretto plumbed so it can be a bait tank. Mine never had a pump or thru hull for the water flow, although input fitting and over flow fittings are installed.

Here is a page of West Marine bait tank pumps There would be a number of choices, depending if you wanted self priming or non setf priming. I have seen a couple of C Dory's with an intake in the rear (some have a scoop, others just a thru hull) and a pump similar to the SHURFLO Piranha Livewell Pump on top of the thru hull fitting.

New one to me. I clicked thinking you were going to tell me how to fish well, or wish me well when I go fishing.

At least we're talking about fishing!!!

FISH FISH FISH FISH!!!

Tomorrow we start the process of counting the King Salmon on the Copper River, the sockeye counter work will start Monday. The commercial fishery opens May 18th. Fresh salmon is imminent!!

No C Dory junk yard--C Dorys are rarely if ever scrapped. But many take the deck pipe out when they put a windlass on the boat. There are at least two sizes used the C Dory line. Measure the top of the pipe. Is it oval or round? There are a number of "consignment shops" Minney's in Costa Mesa Calif. We have one in Pensacola, Sailor Man in Fort Lauderdale, and a number of others. Good chance you will find what you want by first advertising on this site, and phoning the various consignment yards,. I will be happy to check our local place. But you might have to buy the whole deck pipe. Or perhaps just the top...

There are other options--one is to make one of fiberglass. Pretty easy to make a male mold and build the glass over it after it is waxed, or even use wax paper.

Another is to make a wooden plug that just fits the deck pipe. I would do a very slight taper to fit, and the a flange, so it would not no in further.
