Finally!

After what has seemed like forever (closer to 3 weeks) I am heading to NC to pick up my new C-Dory on Thursday.

The dealer is planning to take me out on it Friday to explain the systems, etc. to me.

I greatly appreciate the warm welcome & friendly advice you folks have offered. I have a lot to learn & plan to be here often.

After reading about a million posts here is what I went with...

The Honda 9.9 kicker is now mounted on the starboard side. Since the control cables, etc. for the main engine are on that side I did not want the swim step there.

The swim step is now installed on the port side, and I am waiting for the interior grab rails and a low radar arch to arrive (I will bring the boat to PA and use it while waiting).

I ordered the bimini & full enclosure from the dealer, and window covers from a local canvas shop in Oriental. These folks have done some beautiful work for me in the past.

I am not having any radios nor navigational equipment added at this time. I have one hand held VHF and am going to order a Uniden Mystic (thanks Flapbreaker!).

I have a couple hand held GPS units and will use them until I figure out which system is "right" for me.

A lot of my decisions on what to buy now & what to add later were based upon the many threads I have been reading on this website. I also looked at 203,517,496 pictures I think.

Thanks again & wish me luck folks! If you hear of a new C-Dory 22 sinking in or around Oriental, NC this weekend do not get alarmed. It is just me trying to figure out the porta-potti. :beer

Is the above meant to read "sinking" or "stinking"? :disgust

(Sorry, couldn't resist....after all this is the C-"BRATS" :wink )

By the way, welcome to C-Brats and Congrats on the new vessel!

My decisions too. Fortunately when I joined the C-Brats there were under 500 members, the latest/greatest mod was the "Barber Chair," and there were only 997,844 photos to sift through. Congratulations and be sure to add yours to the site.

Congrats on your new baby! Keep us posted how she cruises in those beautiful Carolina Sounds and what electronics you decide to add to her -- best of luck in your cruising.

Welcome aboard to the Great C-Dory Fraternity. Remember, this is the first day of the rest of your life. Enjoy your new C-Dory.
