Reason for selling? We primarily bought the Devlin to charter it in the summer and then use it in the winter. That formula worked great with a previous boat...a 30 foot Carver, which average 5 weeks of charter per summer. Unfortunately, we only have one booking with the Devlin. Also, we just don't use it enough.
While we love 95% of the Devlin, namely it's 9 mpg fuel economy, looks, layout, quality, dependability, etc., we've found that life isn't always so grand at 7-8 mph. Sometimes, we just need to get there, especially since our cruising time is often limited to weekends.
No replacement in sight. For now we're content to use the 22' Campion, moored on the Columbia, and trailer it to the Sound on occasion.
As to what we will buy, it would likely be our "cruise the loop" boat....a trip we hope to make in 6 years. Leading candidates are the 26' Venture, 25' Ranger Tug, and in first place, the 26' Aspen Cat. Larry Graf is building. I'm intrigued by the space, king size bed which is separate/below the cabin, fuel economy, speed, and looks. I intend to watch this boat closely through the years.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Devlin either, if the price and layout were suitable. The quality of these boats are outstanding.
