So I've found that G-5 fenders are a great size for the CD22. Love the coverage and the ability to tie them to various locations. However, in the cockpit they take up too much floor space. Does anyone have some bright ideas on where to store them? Has anyone had experience with those stainless steel double brackets that hold two of them? I was thinking of mounting one on the radar arch but thought lets see what other ideas are out there.

Those stainless steel wire brackets for fenders are usually mounted up on the foredeck along the bow rail about half way back to the cabin on larger boats than the C-Dorys, which have their bow pulpit and side rails extending back aft to the main part of the cabin or further.
Putting them on the small bow pulpit on a C-Dory would make them pretty inconvenient.
Can you store yours in the space between the gas tanks?
I store mine in the space under the engine well and lazarets above and beside the gas tanks and the hull on my '87 CD-22, putting two on each side.
Newer boats with larger tanks and/or solid tank covers made of Starboard may not have easy access to this space.
In that case, I'd try storing them by laying the fenders down in the engine well with their lines tied down securely so as to not lose them overboard in rough weather.
You can also store them upright in a couple of 5-gallon buckets in the back corners of the cockpit. I also sometimes do this, as I keep two of tthe buckets there to store the aft mooring lines, sponges, brushes, etc. in.
Not a lot of empty space aboard a C-Dory!

Since I cruise solo much of the time and frequently go from one port to another, I like to keep my fenders tied to their hanging points and just pull them up, parallel with the water while underway. I am putting a set of those sailing, autogrip fittings to make it easier to pull them up and drop them.
The two forward fenders pull up by cords from the roof rail and wedge well between the bowrail ending and the forward berth raised area. I keep a parachute cord tied from the roof rail to the bottom of the forward fenders and can employ them or raise them up and wedge them between the cabin and bowrail with the cords and a small boathook. All from inside the cabin, thru the helm and co-pilot windows.
I use six fenders, and they are all stored parallel to the water most of the time. Of course, you can bring them aboard if the extra cockpit space is not needed.

Bshilliam, I have four fenders on my starboard side. I have two mounted forward of the bow cleat. The line drops down behind the bow rail and has two fenders attached in a continuous line. The line ties of on the cabin grab rail. To store the forward fenders I tighten the line to bring the forward fenders onto the gunnel then tie them off on the cabin grab rail. These fenders stay put wether trailering or boating.
The middle fender comes off my radar rack at the back of the cabin roof. I store both port and starboard fenders in the rack. I have black fenders and I get the mickey mouse look when stored, but they are accessable and out of the way.
The stern fender I have tied to my stern rail. A rail EQ Marine installed to give crew something to hang onto or catch before they are partners with the motors. The fender hangs over the gunnel at the end of the cockpit and is far enough forward to give protection to the hull instead of the fender falling of the stern during use. This fender is usually put on a short leash in the motor well and sometimes is hung in the corner. It is out of the way.
I like Joe's suggestion of trying to stow the fenders between the tanks, but then you will need a quick way of deploying them. Mine are ready.
I have my fenders rigged for my starboard side as this works best at our boat ramp. So I usually try to moor on my stbd side. If someone wants to come along side for whatever, they are in for a long ride following me back to the dock where I feel they can safely board.
This has been my solution and it works for me.

I store 4 fenders in the wire racks I have mounted to my tall radar arch. I though I had a picture in my album but I guess I haven't posted it yet. I will do that tonight. The wire racks mounted to the arch work very well. Easy to acess and they keep the cockpit uncluttered. I deploy three fenders when docking. One from an eye mounted just under the front sliding window. one from the arch and one from the cockpit railing. The fender holders are a bit pricey and do require drilling into the radar arch to mount, but they sure work well.

I found if you keep the forward most fender in place and flip the rear most into the motor well........ then the only "painful" fender is the middle that dangles off the floor. I keep the port side reserved for docking and it is a PITA to switch sides.

I put mine on the roof and have 2 bungees holding them in place. Its never been a problem, and you can just pop them out when needed. Looking at your pix I think it would work for you even with the arch. I have one picture in my album that shows the fenders on the roof it you want to take a look.
I considered the steel bow rail brackets, but glad I didnt do it.

I store four large fenders in the motor well. Secured with z grips to the board I have across transom. I don't have a swim step so this works well for me.
