Well I picked up the Amigo and some yahoo decided he wanted to play bumper cars on Donner Summit today. At least nobody was hurt, but I had to have her towed to truckee CA and the Post on the front of the trailer is broke off. Anyone know the nearest place to get the trailer fixed??????
The boat only has a minor scratch near the year decal and tore of a trim tab and the sounder transducer. But I will want to have her checked out thoroughly before taking her out.
My beautiful F-350 is not so beautiful anymore but shes drivable. The CHP did site the other driver for illegal lane change and he did have ins. thank god. Will miss the salmon opener and have to deal with getting my toys fixed but should be on the water soon I hope. :cry

You really have to watch out for those flat landers when they come up the hill. None of those low landers knows how to drive on any thing thats not straight and flat. be careful on the way home. I did know a few folks up there that ran the hotel but that was years ago and she married someone else. Something about not waiting for me to get off the lake or some such....never did listen to a thing she said.

Doug,
Sorry to hear about the accident! It sounds like this was your first trip with the boat in-tow - what a bummer! Sure glad no one was hurt.

Good luck with getting things fixed,
Steve

Doug, so sorry to hear that. But, it is good you got that crap out of the way and are all set for smooth sailing.

Doug, sorry to hear about the accident, glad to hear that no one was injured. Perhaps one of you folks who were on the ORIGINAL C-Dog site can recall...........wasn't it on Donner Pass where the fella that was from Nevada with the 22' C-Dory got rear-ended by a semi-truck and trailer that flipped his 22' off the boat trailer and on to the top of his pickup truck?

Glad you're safe. Boats and trucks are transient. But...having said that...I hope the clod pays through the nose for years. :x

Doug – glad no one was hurt.
If your trailer is the same as mine, the post is bolted on. You should be able to have a welding shop make you a new one, or have the post replaced by a dealer. There are three EZ Loader trailer dealers about 30 to 40 miles east of you in Las Vegas & Sparks

They are;
Dry Dock Boat Sales - 4290 Boulder Hwy - Las Vegas (702) 451-2992
TMBC LLC - 8200 Dean Martin Dr - Las Vegas - don’t know their phone number.
Nevada Power Products Inc - 1160 Glendale Ave – Sparks (775) 358-0114

I have reported the accident to progressive Ins. And I will call them this morning and hope they can bring it down the hill towards me here in Sacramento or Auburn. Plenty of boat dealers down here, but I don't know who does repairs?

Thank you all for your kind words, Yes I had just met Rick in Winnamucca NV to pick her up. I was a truck driver for 5 yrs and have owned 2 other boats. So I am not new to towing or driving in snow and ice. I think the young guy fell asleep at the wheel, not really sure but It did piss me off when he and his passenger tried to tell the officer he was just cruising along and I rear ended him. :amgry

Thanks to a savvy California Highway Patrolman, just by looking at the car, the truck and the skid marks. He quickly determined the other driver skidded into my lane and was then hit. He then skidded in 360's and plowed into the side of my truck backwards. I was pushed into the snowbank and the boat jackknifed into his car.

I just hope I can get it all fixed soon so I can get on the water :sad
