Exploring before I purchase

If you are really wanting some "V" and space and want to impress the lady with the finer appointments, you might want to take a look at the Cutwater 242 Sport Coupe. Little more space, bigger engine, more speed to get out there 50 miles, a bow thruster so you can dock, and underwater lights so you can .... attract attention.

The "V" will cut through some chop and with a 300 hanging on the transom you can cut through some fuel and make 40 mph. It might be a bit rolley in a seaway though.

Or if your are sending folks to the dark side and $10,000 less consider the Ranger 23.
Which still has some of the double decker appeal of put a kid under the dinette cave. and spend more $$ on fuel also. :)
 
Yeah there is a used cutwater here but a little to fancy for me besides I want to use the boat not worry about all the "systems" I was also trying to get out of the slip fees. But yeah if we can dream I might as well have a custom Armstrong and have a private decorator come in and furnish accordingly. Actually could add a heli pad and just really get after it. Or I can put down the devils lettuce realize that a 25 is all that is needed and wanted and let the people with real money play with the small cruising yachts.

have you seen my thread in T255 vs CD22?

a lot of generous guys putting several real good posts in there. really drive home some sound points. i think you'll find worth digging through, as we're not far from apart in the same process or in the same boat (excuse the pun)

i went with the 3/4 ton, even before my current size debate. my reasoning, it won't hurt in anything i'm considering. i'm not the expert, but plenty here that steered me into getting that right, so it should be the same with you.

i'm with you with a full head for the better half. i still put the added safety stability on the water of +25' as my primary motivator. but also let's face it, you won't mind yourself, passing on the kiddie pottie under the cushion?

now, i haven't test ridden anything on my list, but leaning on going bigger is pushing my window a year now :( (i'm prudent on the idea of financing toys) also, i've no kids (yet) just a fragile wife who constantly nagging "when are we going to have our own boat?" . . i'm sure only to be quite over it, the 1st bad weather. but i'll still have my man-cave on the water, and that's the big picture for me.
