Expanding the unlimited uses for a CD 22

I have a small confession to make about playing hookey from work this Monday and Tuesday. I decided to move my office to the Tennessee River and set up shop on the hook in a shady cove out of the channel. As I sat in the cockpit typing away on my laptop, I realized what I had been missing. The serenity of viewing the mountains dipping into the river in both directions calmed my mind and let the creative juices flow.

After lunch, I took a 30 minute nap in complete peace and quiet with a cool wind lofting thru the cabin. My only companion on this trip was a Great Blue Heron who patrolled his section of the river and squawked at me as he glided by.

Now that I have discovered this escape, I have invited the boss to come to MM 337.5 for the next business meeting. Margaritas will be served at the wrap-up.

It occurred to me that this is the perfect transition to retirement..........

I have also used MzKaye as a floating office. Creating and writing lesson plans as well as reading papers and grading tests for my middle school students becomes a very pleasant task .

It's not just an escape that allows a different work flow... someone in our house needs "projects" to keep her busy. Often times, innocent bystanders (like myself) get caught in the frenzy. The boat, untied from the dock and run a safe distance from the house, can also be an escape from honey-do projects.

And regarding the "perfect transition to retirement"... if you're billing the company for hours spent napping and drinking margaritas, you may get to experience retirement sooner rather than later.

It's the Swiss Army Knife of boats: a mobile office, a sight-seeing/photo platform, a cabin on the water, an RV on the road, shelter from the cold and wet, protection from the sun and wind, a great unwinding from the stress of everyday life, a voyaging vessel... and from what I hear, you can fish from it, pull kids on tubes, use it for USCG Aux, water taxi... what else?

Fun thread.

Best wishes,

Hi Folks,

I think we all have our places to go.

In Hingham, where I use INN-THE-WATER in the spring and early June, there is a place called Back River. It is just a great place, no boats except weekends, lots of birds, and a few folks walking along the river.

In Nantucket, we have a few places to hide that are serene.

Also, getting away from the Honey-do-list lister is great. Have to turn off the Leash, commonly know as a cell phone.

Just think how much we save on health costs having a 22' C-Dory.

Thanks for the subject.

Fred
