Epifanes Wood Finish

I restore wooden (Mahogany) boats and have way too much experience with varnish. Epifanes makes excellent proucts. The draw of the wood finish is that you can recoat without sanding between coats. I doubt you'll be putting 15 coats on your house trim, but it will save you some work. As a boat finish I have found the Epifanes wood finish to be a bit soft. My prefered varnish is Z-Spar Captains. Both are excellent products and have the UV inhibitors to hol up outside.

I agree with Bruce. The wood finish is somewhat softer than the Epifanes varnish. It will get harder after a few months. It does not require sanding between coats if recoated within 72 hours.

I have used epifanes varnish in the past. A good varnish, but I didn't think it was superior.

I wonder how the "wood finish" compares with Cetol? It seems as if it has some simlar characteristics.
