Enough already with the political comments and "jokes&q

OK, I'm climbing up on the soapbox now. Recently the site has seen postings that are political attacks from the left or right, political "jokes" that are offensive and verge on racist, they're about Obama now, not too long ago they were about Bush. For pete's sake, take it somewhere else. This site is about C-Dory's, C-Dory lovers, boating, helpful hints and is a way for us to learn and help each other and...it is a place for new people to learn about the boats we all love. Frankly I'd be embarrassed to have some nice new folks come on the site and read some of this stuff, after all as a C-Brat my personal reputation is tied a little to this site.

I don't give a d*mn about your politics, I do care about your boat, boating experiences, boating knowledge, and boating questions. I don't care to hear the latest slur on the President, regardless of who that President is. If you want to share your biases with others who agree with you go right ahead, just please don't do it on this site, there are plenty of places where you can get together and giggle.

OK, I'm climbing down now. We had a great day with El and Bill, Pat and Patty on James Island, good company, good food. Thats what it is all about.

Frankly, I haven't seen much of that lately. I'm also getting better at ignoring that kind of stuff. But in general, I agree with the sentiment.

Barry,

Right on! I was just noticing that on the "Credit Card Meltdown" thread. This stuff should stop now and we should concentrate on boating. Stepping down now  Let's just go boating! :D

Barry - Bravo and thank you.
Every now and then this stuff creeps in on a normally great site. Occasionally, I have the urge to respond with my own political view ( who cares) but generally I try to just ignore it and maybe it will go away. I don't want to further pollute the thread.

For those who stay refrain from making these comments, thank you.

Hi Folks,

I am guilty and will stop now while I still have a few friends left.

My dad made a point once. "You only make enemys if you talk about sex, politics, and religion."

So lets talk about boats, especially C-Dory's.

Fred

Hey Fred-Just know that, regardless of politics, we are on your side and pulling for you. Lots of different stuff has been catching up with us lately, some bigger and some more serious than others. In the middle of it all Dotty and I went for a little cruise out in the sound between Mukilteo and Edmonds, turned off the motor and sat there. It helped immensely. Here's wishing you the best. Agreed Barry. There's enough political garbage on cable TV, the radio, the "news", other websites.....we don't need it here. I come here to talk, listen and learn about boating and C-Dorys with others that share that same love of the water, boating and enjoyment of life. The past week or so has again reminded me of how quickly life passes and how we should ALL make the most of it...

Fred and all,

I hope that you will accept my apology for my rather crude reply to Fred's post. I certainly don't wish anyone ill fortune.

Barry has hit the nail on the head. Let's talk boats.

Kind Regards to All,

Steve

Barry et al, Stepping up on the soapbox you all hit a home run. Keeping priorities in order here. C-Dorys and boating, safety, cruising, fishing, and keepin' it C-Dory works for me too. Thanks all.

Hi Folks,

When I feel down and work is getting to me, I just take INN-THE-WATER out on Nantucket Harbor, check out the boats in the harbor and realize that with all the "Gold Platers" I see, my little yacht beats them all. I don't need a crew, millions to run it, a crew in my face. Pure serenity.

I then go out to the other end of the harbor (Nantucket Harbor is big) and drop anchor, do a little work "messing about in boats", reading, have a nap, and then feel guilty because I left my wife running the Inn (She is good at that), pull anchor and go back to the mooring, more "messing about in boats", go ashore, return to work at the Inn, only to find that I was not missed.

That's life folks but it is nice.

Fred
