DeWalt Battery Drills

This is waaaaay off topic but I was in Lowe's today and they have DeWalt 1/2" chuck 18 volt battery drills with two batteries and the charger in the plastic case on sale for $99. These are normally $279. I spoke with the salesman because I thought they might be priced incorrectly but he told me DeWalt is coming out with a new model and they are selling off all their old inventory. This is the model DC970K-2 not to be confused with their DeWalt 9.6 model which sells for $99 normally. I used all of the popular brands before retiring and I liked the DeWalts the best. A few weeks ago just the replacement batteries for these drills was $149. I understand Home Depot is offering the same deal.

This may be the same drill that the wood shop here in The Villages uses (I'm not sure of the model number...).

If so, it's one heck of a drill, works very well and stands-up to a Lot of abuse!

Last week I checked out the DeWalt drills at Home Depot and was put off by the $299 price tag. ...may have to go back and check it out!

Thanks!

Best,
Casey

I've got three of those drills, two regular ones and one hammer drill. Had them for years and they are very nice! At that price, it'd be worth it just to buy it for the two batteries!

I'd keep checking periodicaly I first heard about this several weeks ago from someone on the west coast on Hull Truth so it isn't a regional thing. I checked our local stores then and they didn't have any on sale but today I was in Lowe's for something else and they had them on sale.
