Daydream's Great Loop Blog!

Pat,

Thanks. Looks like a LOT of fun ahead.

Will try to leave a few Dungeness crabs in Puget Sound for you.

Can you play "O Canada" on your ocarina ?? Enquiring minds would love to see that video :D

Today's blog post contains a history lesson on why "Canada Day" is not the same as
"Independence Day" and video and photos of a very cool competition among volunteer firefighters that was the highlight of Canada Day festivities in Trenton!

I probably could play "O Canada!" if I listened to it a few times, the last time I sang it was when I was in Kiwanis back in 1985! Unfortunately, I am not sure where my ocarina is right now, I brought it but we seem to have lost track of it, which may seem impossible on a small boat, but we can't find it all the same.

We loose stuff on a 20' boat! Its all safely stowed - the problem is remembering where!

There are probably service men turning over in their graves listening to "O Canada" today as the wording gets changed frequently to remain "Politically Correct" and non gender biased.

The last time we watched those fire fighter competitions it was a scorching hot day and with their full gear on they were pretty exhausted by the end of the coarse. Medics had oxygen masks ready for them when they crossed the finish line. A 56 year old placed in the top 5.

Regards, Rob

Today's blog post covers two days, wherein our fresh water pump goes belly up on Sunday, and is repaired on Monday by a great boat mechanic, right in the middle of the Canada Day holiday! I also get an inside look at Jim and Joan's (no, not you James Bathurst) new express cruiser, which is a different style of boating but very nice nonetheless!

Today's blog post is about the Fourth of July in Trenton. With apologies to my Canadian C-Brat friends, I hope you are all not still sore about that Revolutionary War thing!

Not sore at all Pat. After all, we won that 1812 war thing! LOL

Enjoying your blog Pat. I hope you enjoy the Trent Severn as much as we did.

Cheers
Ron

Yes, we were almost directly below it. But it didn't fit into anything I was writing about!
