Dan Boater Travel Insurance

We are looking at purchasing some travel insurance to assist in case of an emergency away from home. Hopefully we never have to use them but Dan Boater has $60 per year coverage for individuals and $100 a year for family. Anybody have experience with (or advice for) these types of policies? https://danboater.org/index.html
thanks
Jim

I happen to use the one thru Family Motor Coach Association. The emergency vac out of Powell last year and the evac to San Diego from Flagstaff was covered by them. FMCA would get the RV and boat back home.

DAN has a very good reputation. Look at the limits, and what you need. I pointed out on another forum, that DAN does not cover any medical expenses. Often when traveling abroad, our US policies do not cover other countries.

A good friend had "Travel insurance" thru the company who sponsored a riverboat tour up the Rhine River. He had to have 3 weeks of specialized care in Germany (over $100K) and Medivac jet to Seattle (about $125k). All paid for by the insurance, plus his wife was fixed up with accommodations, and an interrupter who visited her in the hospital each day.

The point is that you need to know what a policy covers, and does not cover. I feel that these policies are very worthwhile.

Bob, your inadvertent use of "an interrupter" to refer to "an interpreter" really tickled my funny bone! One of the most droll Freudian slips ever!
