Cruiser 22 towing a tube?

Several years ago at a Lake Powell C-Dory Gathering, I rode as an observer, so C-Brat Tex could water ski behind their CD22 with his wife Sharon driving. I believe the motor was a Mercury 80 hp 2 stroke & even at the elevation of Lake Powell it went well, so I think a tube with the 115 hp should be ok. Of course this could depend upon additional weight in the boat & size & number of people in the tube.

I tow a tube with my 22 and a Honda BF90D with no problem even with two larger people on the tube.

I use a bridle to get around the engine and hook onto the trailer eyes at the transom.

I would suggest getting a tow rope with a booster ball. The transom on the 22 is pretty low and the booster ball keeps the tow rope from getting hung up in the wake. Even if you use the rear cleats for attaching the bridle, the booster ball helps a lot.
