Condensation Solution

This is our 6th year cruising our CD22. We've always had condensation on the walls and ceiling (in the mornings) no matter what the water temp, inside temp, outside temp, etc. We have cruised the Great Lakes, Erie Canal, North Channel, Ontario, PNW, etc. Never really a big issue but always there.

This year we took the CD22 to SE Alaska and we had concerns on the condensation. We added 2 Caframo Ultimate 12V Cabin Fan's. We installed one on the port side right above the front windows and the other one is installed right above the Wallace stove.

At night we keep the one above the Wallace stove running on low (uses very little battery) and have it pointed into the v-berth. We sometimes have a window open and other times no windows are open. We have had ZERO condensation on the ceilings or walls since we have done this. The Inside Passage was dry with no rain (even though rain or no rain we would have condensation in the mornings prior to adding the fan), but Ketchikan has been raining for the last 3+ days and the boat walls/ceilings have been completely dry.

Using the Eco Fan, cuts down on the power consumption of the 12 volt fans (at least one of them). The heat from the Wallas, (Top open) powers the fan which sits on the burner.
