Chattanooga Cruising

We are starting to make plans for a spring cruise in the Chattanooga area of the TN River. I understand they have made alot of improvements to the waterfront in the last several years. Unfortunately, my Fred Myers cruise guide is now out of date, and an internet search is not bringing up much info for travel by boat in the area. Can anyone recommend a source of info? Web site or up to date cruise guide? I am really looking for info about docking in the downtown area for a day trip to the aquarium and some other sites. I have info about the nearby marinas, but not much about city facilities. Thanks.

Rob, I was there for several days in Oct. 2009, there was no crowd at that time so we just docked and walked to the office and paid dockage. Oh, it is Ross' Landing Park and thier number is on the web. A great place to dock since you just walk up the steps, cross the street and you are on the sidewalk of the aquarium and many restuarants. If you are boating all the way up the Tenn., I live about mile 285 on the Tenn.at entrance to the Elk river. Be glad for you to stop and visit, can provide transportation for supplies, a marina slip to tie up in to stay on the boat or a guest room at my house. If you are going to trailer part of the way, at least put in at Hale's Bar marina and boat through the gorge to Chattanooga.
My Fred Mters 5th. addition is old also but has all you need, after you make plans at Ross' Landing Park. The Tennessee River Navigation Charts from the Corps should provide all you need other wise.
When you firm up plans give me a call on (256) 318-4608.
Ron
