I would like to know if there is a way of changing one's username for this website. My current username, Wannabe, needs to be changed now that I am the proud owner of a C-Dory(I am thelucky bugger who picked up the 1994 22' cruiser that was for sale in Hawaii). By the way, I did adhere to the advice of others on this website, and had the marine survey done on the boat before purchasing it. The boat itself was in good shape other than needing a good polish and a little sanding and refinishing of the interior wooden surfaces. Th twin BF 45 outboards looked good up top and ran excellent. However, the lower drive unit casings on both engines were cracked and corroding. I was able to get the price lowered a bit because of this, and am having those lower units replaced right now. Once I get the boat to the Big Island, where I live, from Honolulu, I will begin outfitting it with all of the goodies. It has virtually no upgrades, so I plan on installing some nice electronics, an anchor windlass, trim tabs, fish box, live well, etc.
By the way, its going to cost me about $1200 to ship the boat and trailer here from Honolulu. To ship the trailer alone will only be about $300. I don't have the experience to drive the boat from Honolulu to the Big Island myself but if there is anybody out there who has the experience, a strong sense of adventure, and would like to bring their handheld gps(I'm purchasing a good Epirb), it would be great to cruise the boat over here via Molokai, Lanai, and Maui. I could fly over and meet-up in Honolulu.
