Changing the boat's name

Hey Folks!

My wife of forty-one years (and counting) has informed me that she didn't practicularly like the name I chose for our CD 16, "Yare". She said it was hard to pronounce correctly and sounded horrible on the radio, since people couldn't pronounce it correctly.

Well, the boat wasn't offically named. She has tolerated my passion for boating; she enjoys boating, but isn't into it the way I am. She has recently gently smiled as I purchased a new radio, antennas etc for the boat.

Since she has also encouraged me to buy a new dive compressor, wetsuit, booties and a new u/w metal detector I felt it would be smart to listen to and accept her suggestions.

Her suggestion was to name the boat "Sock Monkey". It fits our lifestyle and especially her. She is entering her sixth decade of life and exercises eight plus hours a week and is as nimble, flexible and fun as a Sock Monkey. The CD 16 is a nimble, flexible and fun boat.

So the name of our CD 16 is now offically "Sock Monkey". :lol:

Sock Monkey....I thought about starting it with a (soft) C instead of an S but for some reason it just doesn't look good.... :roll:

Hope you used the proper ceremonies when you named her. Look on the second page of the documents forum.

To each his/her own. Sounds like you two have a long way to enjoy. Great times ahead and good to pay attention to the old saying "If Mommas not happy, nobody is happy".
