CD's for sale

I have never seen so many C-Dorys for sale on this site.
What is the cause of this?? Economy???? Tired of boating???
Upgrading their boat???
This is not good for the factory trying to build and sell new ones.

Might be time for me to think about upgrading to a nice cruiser since there are lots of good second hand ones out there now---and then I look back at my 1982 classic still running so faithfully with the original 70 hp Johnson and think "How could I give it up. It may just last a while yet!"

I think there are a few of them on the list that have sold already. I've been busy and haven't spruced it up for a while.

What always surprises me is the number of ads archived in the Marketplace Reference forum. Over 500 boats sold are represented in it. There have been lots of ads - probably well over a hundred - that have sold but were not archived because the seller asked to have the ad deleted or there wasn't enough info included in the ad to be of value to prospective sellers/buyers. We must be doing something right even if we are a little slow with the housekeeping.

Mike,
You guys are doing a great job with this site. I was just surprised at the long list for sale. I am sure that after you "tune it up" it will be much shorter.
Regards,
Jack

I'm to blame for this. I waited for years to find a a good deal on the kind of c-dory that I wanted. The pickings were slim and the competition was fierce. When I finally pulled the trigger and bought one, boat sellers came out of the woodwork, and now there are over 40 great c-dorys for sale.

spam alert-
If a person is craving a boat with twins and finds a deal on one with a single engine, I might point out that sportcraft will be having a nice pair of 1999 honda 40's complete with gauges and controls for sale shortly

Ha, I thought my buying mine had the same effect! BTW, Surf Scoter is a sharp looking C-Dory :thup

It looks like the young nerd went in and tidied up the for sale album. It also looks like just a couple of the advertised boats had sold.

Yep, there are a bunch of great boats on the market right now. A lot of really good deals and an usually broad variety to choose from. If you are shopping, now is a good time.

Just an unsubstantiated observation: the number of boats for sale usually goes up a lot in October / November. I attribute that to users realizing that they just haven't used the boat as much as they intended to, as the summer season winds down, and they don't want to face a winter of storage fees.

Your mileage may vary; there could be a ton of other reasons why people put boats up for sale in the fall.

this was my assumption. C-Dorys for sale seemed to disappear in the spring when everyone decides to keep it for one more season.
