I realize it is a distance for you to travel; but, if you are in the VA Beach, VA area I would be delighted to take you out for a run in the Bay to demonstate what our 'girl' will do and let you play with toy.

I'm usually available on Saturdays, unless I take a vacation day.
 
I may as well get in on this too, being relatively new (First season) to salt water boating myself. We looked at both the 22 and 25 side by side and it was not even a question for us, the 25 got the nod! If you can drag it down the road with your current tow rig I would opt for the 25. If you had to upgrade the tow rig, then your going in pretty deep dollar wise. 25 ft attributes are ,more room, still easy to handle, greater creature comfort by a long shot and in my opinion a greater safety factor for newbys. That last comment may draw fire from some of the more experienced folks on this site but it sure worked on my wife! Mike on Huda Thunkit.
 
AstoriaDave: I just checked out the Bartender and must say that is one cool boat. A real advantage in the surf. The video clips are great. The clip of the Coast Guard boat makes me want to sign up. Just one question. Are fumes in the cockpit a problem with the outboard setup? Good luck with yourt boat build-up.

Thanks for the encouragement. I sure am learning a lot, and enjoying solving all the puzzles of an inboard installation!

The OB installation is in a well, with a plug that drops down when under way, so I don't think fumes are an issue, but I have not been aboard an OB-equipped boat to say for sure. Might be a problem, at trolling speed.

Loved my Bartender - a V-6. Some exhaust problems because of the well but cured without much trouble. Great boat in the surf, but rolls quite a bit if you are slow-trolling.
