CD 19 - Portland

That mini-bimini is a useful and flexible item. I have a similar one, probably fabricated by the same canvas outfit in Portland. As a bimini alone, it provides standup shade, yet allows for fishing space in the cockpit. When the sides and drop down are attached, usable cabin space is greatly increased. If another drop down is installed from the back of the hard cabin roof, a stand up compartment is created for use as private head or other functions. The only drawback is that access to the stainless handholds is blocked. This is overcome by adding luggage handholds to the corners of the canvas.

Marty, you can have the canvas shops create a bimini frame that has a handle at the back of it. Not quite as solid as the roof mounts, but they work nicely.
