We have been planning to move up to a 25’ for a while now and a few weeks ago we found a good deal on a 2005 25 footer. Sooner than we planned but couldn’t pass it up. Just got a slip in the Edmonds marina today for the bigger boat. Once we get it outfitted for fishing we will drop her in. Bittersweet for sure, but this means the current Catch 22 will go up for sale (probably not until after king season as I can’t stand to miss a day). Currently the new boat is just sitting in our yard. I just stare at it and ponder how to set it all up! Super excited...

Kevin-

Congrats! :smile

A new boat to rig is about as much fun as you can have with your.........(well, you know!)

And catch some fish,, too! :smiled

Joe. :teeth :thup

Congratulations on your 25, we have been having so much fun outfitting ours, which is also new to us.

Catch 22. I saw you out on Sunday. All i was able to catch was massive amounts of seagrass. What is the strategy to avoid it in the area we were in Sunday? I thought having down riggers would have helped out more than it did. I think i counted 5 C-Dorys including your zipping around the fleet fishing Sunday. Congratulations on your new boat. Looking forward to seeing a 25 around fishing.

Troy- our main thing is to keep moving. Not sure where you saw us since we fished 4-5 different locations. If you have good gear and are not catching fish, and no one else is move. I think on Sunday Jeff head was our 4th stop. I am guessing that’s where you saw us if you were dealing with weeds. It was socked in. We got one at West Point, one at jeff head and one at Richmond beach

Kevin, Congratulations on the upsize. I'm sure is will be great when you get it rigged.

Congratulations!
You will love the 25. She will run better in rougher weather. Still needs the Permatrims and trim tabs (which I believe all 25's come with).

I totally get it. So many boats, choices, places to go, things to do
on a boat or otherwise, sometimes a guy just can't decide.

It's a tough and complicated jungle out there...

but in having new eyes.” - Marcel Proust

Aye.

Great idea Kevin. Use the new Catch-25 as the leader of the 2019 C-Brat coho derby

Catch 22 I have followed your posts over the years and looked at all your pictures as I have the exact same boat (1981 Classic) and you have been an inspiration to me. ( I just finished installing new transom)

I am very happy for you and your new boat. A 25' footer would be amazing but its just not in my budget in the near future. I will just have to look at your new pictures and dream! Congratulations!

David and Valerie

David- thanks for the good words. It almost seems unreal prepping to sell the Catch 22! We plan to do the inside passage in a year or two so a little more space was a desire. However, for overnighters and fishing in Puget Sound I (am bias) but cannot imagine a better boat. We have had literally thousands of hours of affordable fun on the Catch 22. I hope someone near by gets her when I put her up for sale so I can see the boat from time to time. As it is, I will fish it every day and keep outfitting the 25 until she is ready to go in. We limited all but one day so far in area 10!

Congrats Kevin and you will love the space for longer journeys. I hope you guys are having a great summer.

Greg

Congratulations for rolling home your 25' footer, Kevin. As you say, that boat will be a roomier cruiser on extended trips north. What fun that'll be for you two. Hey, I sure can relate, though, about loving your current craft and wanting to see it cruising around with the new owner now and then.
When I let Bambina go I felt a little like I heartlessly unleashed my loyal Labrador because I fell in love with a younger, friskier pooch with more potential. Or something like that. Anyway, I was very fortunate to find an appreciative new owner in local guy MikeR, who will bestow all the TLC on Bambina she can absorb. I hope you're just as fortunate when you sell Catch 22.
