cat repellant

Tom says something about the SeaHawks, and the villagers start gathering pitchforks and torches. He talks about waterboarding cats, and he gets a bunch of "atta-boys."

If it makes you feel any better, some of us were annoyed by both.

Back to unwanted cats...many years back, I dealt with the situation with one well-placed shot from a paintball gun to a feline intruder's hind quarters. While the cat probably had a hard time believing it, it really was for it's own good...my seemingly loving and innocent pups don't care for small and fast non-canine furry things, and had already dispatched with one unlucky puss who wandered into their yard earlier. Much as I take a bit of joy when they snag squirrels and gophers, that experience wasn't so entertaining.

Another possible option - water does indeed, work well. However, my experience has shown that by the time you get the water turned on and the hose out, it's too late. What might work well - motion activated sprinklers. I've read many a good review about these - for both dogs and cats, or any other wildlife that intrudes where it's not wanted.

For the record....:embarrased

I *AM NOT* a cat hater. I do, however, like humor/cartoons that go a bit too far.

If you look at Skip Morris' web site, you will see that cat people love his books as much as anyone else.

I've had cats all of my life and loved every one. When my last old tom died of old age, I cried like a little baby. My wife says I was inconsolable. Then, his older mother died a few months later and I fell apart again. They are buried in two choice spots in my yard, complete with little flat stone markers I carved myself. Burt, named after Burt Reynolds, and Suzie Q, Yep I do love MY cats. It's the other cats I don't care for. Therefore, I love irreverent cat cartoons.

When I was a kid, my beloved cat "fluffy" would spend his days climbing all over the retired neighbor Bob's boat. Bob loved that boat and spent alot of his days fishing.

One day fluffy was cold and stiff. Dad said Bob left a bowl of anti-freeze out by the boat and fluffy had a drink of the sweet green necter.

Im not condoning what old Bob did, but now im a dog person, and not a huge fan of outdoor cats killing every bird or other wild animal in sight. What good are they? especially feral cats. Dispatch them :amgry

I have never power washed a cat but a friend has and it works. Now I find it kind of funny that any one would think that he is any closer then 5 ft to the cat at the time. Other then getting really pissed off there is no damage to the cat. Problem with a spraying a cat with a hose is that they just run off and come back later. The very best way to keep a cat off your yard is to get a cat of your own. When I got a cat all the other cats stayed off my yard.

Most all the cats that I have had a problem with where peoples pets. Most people let there cats out, including me when I owned one. I was on 5 arc. at the time and he very rarely wandered very far, but I would not complain when or if some one sprayed him or turned him in to the pound. I like how everyone with cats try's to blame it on wild cats. On a side note my friend in Kenmore turned in twelve of the neighbors cats to the pound. One of them sued him over it. Had a restraining order against him for emotional harassment.

TO be clear I don't hate cats. I hate them pissing on my boat or car. With our current wonder dog I don't have a problem with the 10 yes 10 cats the one neighbor owns. They keep trying to come over and poke around and Shadow has a blast chasing them. He can never catch one but has taken a few claws to the face this year. Our local coyote pack is a bigger threat to both my dog and his cats. Neighbor losses about two cats a year to the pack, but he just gets new ones.

Now if I can get shadow to chase seahawk fans I will have it made.

Anyone call animal control?
They are trained and will assist howmowners with feral, stray and domestic cats issues.

I would be interested in knowing why the high cat population.

I think the high number is due to irresponsible pet owner lowlife neighbors. I don't think we have an animal control department in this town..we don't even have a stop light.....I think when I get home I'll try herding them all over to Chester's side of town :)

water covers 70% of the earth, LOB covers the rest

I understand.......
irresponsbile pet owners, They are everywhere and overpopulation in domestic animals is a big problem
thanks

that paint ball turret is awesome, except I don't want my back yard, boat, car, spouse painted :)

I think I won't try to herd the cats over to Chesters, I think I'll just build me a Catapult and fling them over

This is certainly a hot topic; in less than a day, there are 3 pages. Wow! It's the equal of the width of the C-Dory stripe.

We store Journey On in our front yard and have a pack of coyotes in back, further up the hill. No cat problem, not even any wandering dogs. A few rabbits on the lawn, but if the coyotes don't get them, the BB gun does. The coyotes do chew up the irrigation system, but I fix that with PVC pipe.

For San Diego County, I'm not sure what the animal control/humane society does. When I call, they outline a few no-no's, tell you to leave a message and don't call back. The ultimate bureaucratic response.

My rant for the day.

Matt my inter action with animal control has always been the same in three different states, AC " are you in danger from the animal" Me "No its a cat I think i can take him"
AC "we will send some one next week"

In the case of my fishing partner he caught the cats and took them to the pound, which by the way the people at the pound were not very nice, and they just call the owners and charge them for holding the cats. next day cat is back in the yard.

After the cat cleaning service the cats are still free and still in the neighbor hood, they just don't come into his yard any longer. I mean its been 8 year since this happened and no cats go to his house. Who said you can't train a cat. If you really want to see fun trap and clean a raccoon. :disgust
