Jim,

We've seen these sea breacher boats before but now they have a model designed to look like an orca. So I was thinking that perhaps I could buy one and make a deal with your current employer. An "orca" would show up for every trip. You wouldn't need to go outside into the potentially nasty water that makes people sick, I'd show up just outside the marina. You'd save fuel and you'd always get a show of an orca breaching. Since you have to stay at least 200yds away, people may not even know this isn't a real orca. How much would your boss pay for this fabulous new service? (I'm going to need enough to make the payments on this orca boat).

Roger-

I think you ought to buy one of those and go out and get between the Japanese whaling boats and Greenpeace, making you and your new toy into a cause celebre for whales and whale advocates of all types everywhere!

Just be sure to pay up that Rider on both your Traveler's Life and Health Insurance Policies that cover harpoon incidents.

Imagine the Travelers people trying to worm out of a claim when you're sanding there with a harpoon sticking out of the side of your butt:

"No sir, there's absolutely no evidence of collision or any other incident or accident to yourself or your vessel. Claim denied."

Déjà vu !

Joe. :teeth :thup

Roger, Orcas are usually found in pods, so you will need a fleet -- pod  I will be happy to volunteer as a driver in your other machine. For the inside shows. The Greenpeace one I think I'll pass on as I have been found to be allergic to harpoons.

Interesting premise, Roger! I saw one of those at the Seattle Boat Show.

Considering that today was the best day YET this season for whale watching, I'm guessing we won't need to invest in one of those mechanical versions...

We got to see the newest member of J-Pod, born just 4 days ago. :D

Best wishes,
Jim
