Canvas back storage

:D What do most of you do with the canvas back covers when your out motoring and don't need them? I'm thinking of getting some kind of stuff sack to roll them up in. They would be wiped down and dry before doing this.Any thoughts? Thanks

We made a stuff sack out of scrap pieces of Sunbrella material we had left over from several projects and put a rope draw string in it. It works well for storing the camper enclosure. If I get tight on space, I just stick it up on top. If it gets rained on , the Sunbrella material protects the contents from getting wet as well.
 
Most vinyl window manufacturers recommend against "wiping" them clean. The windows should be "dabbed" clean as much as possible.

I lay out old bedsheets and lay a panel on one, fold the sheet over, then another panel on that, then roll them up and store alongside the forward bunk, up against the hull. That helps insulate the bed area, allows a place to lean on when sitting up, etc..

I am thinking of getting a large PVC pipe and rolling the window panels up on that to reduce the bending angle.

I went down to the local sporting goods store and bought a good qualitiy light canvas game bag (elk size), plus some real inexpensive fleece blankets from Freddy's. I just roll the side panels up between the blankets, then put them up on the vee berth. Works well, total investment under $20, and I have a couple of extra blankets if it gets too chilly.

I remove the sides and back, then fold the top back on the frame and put a boot around it. It is about 20 inches above the engine and out of the way. Easy to redeploy if necessary. The sides and back are gently folded and placed in a plastic container under the V-berth.

We do the sheets and roll it up, like Dr. John. Rolling is much better on the eisenglass than any folding. We leave it in the truck so it doesn't take up v-berth space. If we're going to be away from the truck and trailer for an extended time, the camperback stays set up on the boat - nice to have the zippered eisenglass and screens in that circumstance.

For warm weather cruising (and, yes, that's subjective), we generally leave the camperback off and run with just the bimini top. In the past year, the camperback has been ON a lot more than off.

We bought a big duffle bag from Cabelas. All the pieces fit nicely in it and we throw it in the V-Berth. Like others, if we need the space, it goes up top.

Thanks for the replies.
I like the idea of wraping them in a blanket. I also like the Cabelas duffel bag idea to conserve space. I might incorporate the two and use both depending on day trip or longer.
