C-Moss=Cool Boat!

Just wanted to say that C-Moss is a cool looking boat! What year, length and style is she?

Is your boat the one that was for sale on Whidbey last summer? I used to own a 17 Arima Sea Chaser and the front with the windshield sure reminds of an Arima profile.

It looks like you have a bracket for the main, too.

Anyway, sure like the looks of her. Wondering how the ride is, any different than a traditional 22 Cruiser?

I noticed one of the gals is wearing an Arlington Eagles sweatshirt so you guys must live in my neck of the woods.

Would be great to meet you at one of the C-Brat Get Togethers.

Thanks,

Patrick

For those of us who don't remember what C-Moss is or what it looks like, here's an image from the C-Moss album.

Looks like one of the one-off designs/ custom orders that Marben Marine did back in the 80's!

Nicely done, and in great shape!

Joe. :teeth :thup

The hull shape looks a little like the venture series from the gunnel to the water .It might have a deeper v in the back(transom) . Marben /Tolands made some very interesting boats in the 80;s From 30 ft cats to flying bridge models I guess they were trying to figure their niche

Which I think they have found it now Its like when Grady built its cat fishing boat I think it was called a Tiger cat?? Now Grady doesnt go to far away from center consoles .walkarounds and some small runabouts (duel consoles)

this is the boat that had the jet pump and inboard right? nice to see it converted to something a little more usefull.
I was also thinking it looked more like a CC in the bow then a CD. either wat its a nice boat and cant wait to see it at a gathering so come to one.

The photo that Roger put into the thread was there yesterday. Now all I get is the little red X in a little tinybox. What happened?

It was a nice looking "one off" when I saw it.

I don't know but it appears that the album has moved location. The link that Marty posted to the C-Moss photo album is also broken. Yet when I sort through the "Our C-Dorys" list of boats, I can still find the album and the photo. The album name has changed from "album 1118" to "c-moss" and that's what broke the links. Here's the image I posted previously.

Hello all Brats,
Merry Christmas to all and wishing everyone calm seas and smooth sailing in 2011.
Check out my photo album for all the info and specs onthe C-Moss, I have the paper if anyone would like a copy.
Later Dave

Dave,

Thanks for the information on C-Moss. The foam filled under the deck is what Arima does and one of the things I loved about the one I had, which had the fish box in the center under the deck.

I wish C-Dory would make the same type of hull as Arima, just that little bit of deadrise makes for a faster and just as efficient type of hull. I used to cruise in my 17 Sea Chaser at 18 mph with the '84 Yamaha 90 hp 2 stroke and get 3.5 mpg.

Still, I love my C Dory because it has a hard top and I can stand up in it, one of the main reasons I didn't search out and purchase a 21 Arima HT. There wasn't enough headroom for me.

It's great to learn of the origins of these lines of boats and the people who still have the documents and knowledge of them.

Are you taking anymore orders for C Brat hats? I certainly would like to purchase some.

Thanks,

Patrick
