Hi Ruth & Joe,

Hank also has my absolutely all-time favorite tow vehicle. If you get a chance, ask him to show you through it. Wow!!!!!

Dusty

Hi Dusty,

You are so right about the WOW! Hank allowed us to tour his tow rig while he was getting SEA SKIPPER ready for cruising. That tow rig is one awesome piece of machinery. Is there anything it DOESN'T have in it (or on it)? Very nice!

Saw a blue 22' CD with a blue camper top and twin Honda 40's going east across Stevens Pass (hwy 2) around 1:30PM today. Didn't see a name on it but honked and waved. Who was it?

I spent the day walking around the Inner Harbor in Baltimore today. I was just getting ready to walk over to the Light Rail station, when I spotted a C-Dory 25 cruising around in the inner basin. Boy, the boat looked good. Put a smile on my face. :D To the crew of the "Santa Barbara", thanks, you made my day!

You are right Chromer that was Little Buddy and me. I was getting some hours on the boat and verifying the prop choice. I would have liked to talk more but I didn't want to interfere with your fishing. Right after I left you I got called into work. It sure was a great day on the lake while it lasted.

Got a call from Royal and Lucky late last week that they were coming to Lake Shasta for a week.

We were scheduled for a wekend of RVing down to the Sierra Foothills around the Gold Country, but called Roy back up on Monday after we returned. Went up the McCloud arm of the lake on our pontoon boat on Tuesday, and took them 40 lbs of ice and a fried chicken picnic lunch. Great to meet Roy and Lorie Z.! Had a great lunch and let our Great Dane, Misty, meet their Golden Retriever. This is the absoloute best month on the lake of all- still warm into the 80's and low 90's during the day, and down into the 50's at night with light winds (usually), and water still in the upper 70's at the surface. Shasta Lakes's very best.

Had another C-Dory encounter on Shasta Lake today!

My wife Cathy and I were aboard the Sea Ray265 Sedan Bridge we just completed purchasing yestday, taking inventory of the stuff on the boat and locker, when she says "There goes a C-Dory!"

Sure enough, when I could drag myself up out of the under seat storage areas, I could see the taiul end of a blue C-D 22 Cruiser without a name and twin Yamahas disappearing down the marina row.

We yelled (too late), but were in no position to give chase in the disarray of the disassembled boat.

Who was that masked man?

They went out the marina log boom, then out under the I-5 bridge, and appeared to then be down-rig trolling for trout.

Later, with the inventory completed, we went out to look for them, but to no avail...

Anybody we know???

(I'll own up to the Sea Ray escapade later, when I have more time. Will run Pat Anderson down with posts one way or another, even if I have to buy a fleet of Bayliners!!!)

Joe.

Coming north towards Brownsville I came up on "Liberty Call" Hailed um, and we drifted and chatted. Got the inside scoop of where to check things out on BainBridge.

Thankd for the Deli Tip! We had lunch there. And that little lagoon/cove on Bainbridge accross from the Brownsville Marina Is definetly another world!

Saw a Grey 22 or 25' Hi top C-Dory with twin honda 50's on it but no name while we were back in there.

Thanks for the tips.

Well, it is obvious, isn't it? Joe has too much money on his hands as well as too much free time! So what's the story on the Sea Ray?

Pat-

I just bought a Sea Ray 265 Sedan Bridge for my lounging around on Shasta Lake.

It's got a flying bridge, is about 27'1" at the waterline, and is 31 ft overall with the bowsprint and swim platform. 9' beam.

6400lbs, twin V-6 4.3L 210 hp motors. Goes 35, and cruises 20-25mph.

With the flying bridge, you have a nice 8 x 6 ft deck above, and the entire lower boat is devoted to cabin and cockpit (no lower helm station). Very BIG inside, more like a 30 footer.

Fit and finish are superb, actually much better that my C-Dory or Fleetwood Limited motorhome. From the inside, you can't see any fibrerglass unless you remove a drawer, stand on your head, and use a flashlight.

Has headliner, upolstered and fabric covered walls, drapes, venetian blinds, window covers inside and out, maple wood trim, and carpet that even lines all the storage compartments under the dinette, v-berth, setee, etc. Even the door to the anchor locker at the foot of the v-berth is mirrored and with a lock.

The head/shower have almost never been used, and are like new.

All wires are color coded and listed in the owner's handbook. The pressure water intake, sewage discharge, and several other functions have keys that lock them on and off or their compartments.

The whole thing is built like a tank in terms of tightness. AND VERY PLUSH.

With a 22 degree deep-V hull, it rides great through the chop, but it's just fun to ride along at displacement speeds and enjoy the view from 11 feet above the water in the wind.

I'm working the boat over now, and in a couple of weeks I'll have it pulled and gone through at a local marine shop for all mechanical services.

Comes complete with transferrable covered slip at Bridge Bay, where we already have a slip shared between our C-Dory and our pontoon boat, depending on season. You usually have to WAIT for someone to DIE to get a large slip there!

Guess I went over to the "DARK SIDE" on this one, but I'm lovin' it!!!

Here's a link to some photos of sisterships of mine, I'll add my own photos when I get her all detailed out!

Joe.

Lets see - C-Dory, pontoon boat and Sea Ray? A big Meridian should be next on your list! Sounds like a collection in the making! To run that Sea Ray you might have to move down to Texas for the cheap gas! Is there a Ray-Brats.com or something like that for the REST of your free time? For me, about 8 years to retirement, and I struggle to find free weekends for ONE boat. Anyway, enjoy, looking forward to pix of you boat...

Pat-

I'll get interior photos today and post them tonight.

I'm considering having the exterior detailed professionally when she goes into the shop for the mechanical servicing,

Did I mention we also have a 14 ft Four Winns Fling Jet Boat? Great for tubing, water skiing, and wakeboarding (for the younger generation). Me, I use it for beer and ice runs from the anchor/camp out locations. Will propbably sell it though, can't take care of that many boats.

We also have two kayacks. Good thing we gave up sailboats. Should just sell the house and buy some more boats, really.

Joe.

Good lookin' boat, Joe. Should be a great lake boat. No mirrors in the V-berth area for me - unless they are on the overhead

Congrats. You got time to work on it and get online too??

Yup, although I think I've created a full time job equivalent for my retirement!

But I'm lovin' the boats!

Can't ever have too many boats, only to little time!

Off to the lake!

Have fun in Sequim!

Joe.

Pat-

OK, as promised HERE are the photos of my Sea Ray Sedan Bridge. (Some of the photos are being rotated, and may not be available for a few minutes.)

I've detailed the inside, but not the outside. The boat is really especially clean, even though the photos look a little dark inside. They are dark because of the outside sunshine shutting down the camera shutter a little early.

One thing I've learned is that you can't always tell the condition of a boat by photos. Of course, you can't tell mechanical condition, but the appearance can be deceiving based on how the photos were taken. An especially bright flash (and probably photos taken at night so the flash will be the only light) will wash out and brighten the interior and exterior so much as to make a mistreated boat look very good. Anyone investigating a used boat via photos should note this. You cannot see dirty fabrics and mildew if the photos were taken by a skilled person. I'm still experimenting and learning.

Guess C-Dory Meets Sea Ray might be more of a common occurance than we would have expected a few days ago!

Let me know what you think!

Anybody have any comments?

Joe.

Joe,

You knew I'd comment! Beautiful boat and appears to be in great condition. Lots of fun on the lake with that jewel. Inside controls a must up here, but down there you probably live on the bridge. Congrats!
