C-Dory Sightings

Spotted a nice 22 Cruiser with black trim just outside Avalon, Catalina Saturday while they were fishing, it was Hunky Dory (no name on vessel). Talked to the couple, great folks, live in Southern Calif, owned the boat for 2-3 yrs, love it. Invited them to the C-Brats site, they said that's the first thing they'll do when they get home. Also invited them to the August get-together at Catalina, they said they're going to try (afterwards couldn't quite figure out how they knew about it without visiting the site...hmmm). Ahhh, I remember they said they met Salty C's (Sam and Kerry) earlier in week.

So, Hunky Dory (just how many are there?) if you're listening, jump in, the waters fine. So nice meeting you. Unfortunately I forgot both of your names right after we shook hands, sorry, bad habit of mine.

A pleasure to meet Boris of San Diego, the owner of JOURNEY ON. Finally caught up with him today on P Dock here in Bellingham. He'll be cruising the Northwest waters for a while. He plans on being back in B'Ham the weekend of July 14-16 (along with wife Judy).

My friend spotted a CD moored off Pine Island in Lewis Bay, Cape Cod.
Said it had twins, looked to be a CD25 maybe NH registration?

Hi Roger,

The Tomcat remains a mystery. It was moored out on the sand spit of Santa Barbara harbor for the fireworks, the boat looked great out there. Today it was back in its slip.

I took my boat home from SB today. It took me over 3 hours to get back to Channel Islands harbor. It was rough ride out there today; big waves close together, but the boat did great.

Two sightings, (1) spent July 4th moored next to Tyboo at Oak Harbor Marina on Whidbey Island. Great company--great fireworks. (2) Saw Kingfisher (22 Cruiser) moored to a buoy at Holmes Harbor, Whidbey island on July 5th.

I believe it was about July 2nd, coming over a hill in the the Eastern Black Hills, just out of Sturgis, SD, I saw two semis loaded with boats. The first went by so fast I only saw the aft and the cabin door loooked like a new Orca, or similar. Behind that truck was one carrying two CD 22's East to some lucky ppl! They look great on a semi-trailer! John

As Steve and I settled in for the evening Saturday at Newport, he spotted a C-Dory one dock over...I went over and took a picture of the Wanda Fuca and will post the pic when I get home tonight -- later, the Ramblin Rose appeared in the slip next to the Wanda Fuca -- qualify as a C-Dory gathering?

Saturday morning, July 8 met Scamp, 22' cruiser, out of Gig Harbor at Thatcher Pass going into the San Juans. Just missed Catman and Tyboo at Deer Harbor, we were in West Sound.

Spotted CheckpointII while leaving Edmonds marina last evening. We were on our way out to pull our crab pots and fish for an hour so we didn't stop to say hello.

Although I wasn't on "Sea Shift", I spent 5 hours Saturday and 4 hours today on our Fire Rescue Boat on Lake Stevens assisting with the Aquafest Activities. (What can I say, other than I LOVE my Job!... )

Saw what I thought was a new TomCat 25 on the upper Potomac, just south of 14th Street bridge at about 7:30 PM on Sunday. Who goes there? Do we have a TomCat 25 nearby? Can I come aboard and drool a little if I bring a napkin?

Cheers,

Just spent a night with Kate and two grandsons at Reid Harbor, Stewart Island, San Juans. Saw a 16 leave the harbor just after our arrival. Ursa Minor Minor.

new boats I have seen in the last two weeks

Ramblin rose in the san jauns
checkpoint II possesion point
two 16s and a 19 at the dock in everet.
Some one I forgot the name of on a bouy just out side of Roche harbor
and two luck fish playing coastie on the bar.

Sark,

I was in the Sled right behind you as you were heading back up the slew on your way home yesterday. I went out with MissConduct from Gamefishin and we got our 4 limits. I'm going to see if I can get my sled running in time to head out Wed and Thurs.

I also saw the light blue 22 on the south end of the lake. And about 4 or 5 different C-Dory's on Elliot Bay on Saturday fishing for Chinook.

Gary, Didn't see you back there, but I was pretty tired at that point. Fished yesterday in the sand point area and did well. I'll be out wed, and probably thursday too. I was up until about midnight last night cleaning sockeye and putting them in a brine. I'm glad we have a day to rest in between, I need some time to rest and gas up the boat. Etc.. See you out there.

While watching Channel 5 News this evening the news camera was showing the multitude of fishing vessels on Lake Washington. Naturally, one of the vessels shown was a C-Dory. (In the fire service if your picture appears on the TV news or in a newspaper, you have to purchase ice cream for everyone in the department...........So Who Was It! ...WOW! Ice Cream for all the C-Brats.....cool! )
