C-Dory Sightings

I went up to Clear Lake, CA yesterday just to look around. There is a road the goes along the lake shore that is crowded with homes and fishing resorts. As I rounded a corner I saw what looked like a 16 C-Dory under a carport with a boat cover. On the way back I looked closer and I am sure is was a newer 16.

Coming home from work yesterday I spotted a CD22 heading east out of Astoria. I see lots of CDs and I am terrible about remembering to mention them on this thread, but this one had a name on the side that I recognized as a fairly new member of the CBs. Double D's - sorry I missed you, but I did wave!

Hey TyBoo,

That was us "Double D's. We did some sturgeon fishing for a few days, we stayed in the Astoria Marina. We had a good time, it was good to get away. We had a little trouble getting bait the first couple of days, but once we got it straightened out we had some good luck. We really enjoy your site, and we were hoping that we would see you sometime on the river. We spend alot of time both sturgeon and salmon fishing down in your neck of the woods.

Double D's - stands for Dale & Dolores, we always monitor 16 & 68 on the VHF.

We are headed to Neah Bay, Halibut fishing should be back to open Salmon season/Sturgeon if still open around first of July.

We have new neighbors at the dock in Newport -- Old Lyme, a TomCat -- appears to be registered in Connecticut! I'll get a picture tomorrow when I go check on the boat and refresh the dryzez crystals :-)

Anyone know these folks?

While not a physical sighting, I wonder how many have noticed the C-Dory in the latest Lats & Atts issue (July 2006?). I believe it was on page 73 but I don't have it in front of me at present.

Here's our new neighbor on B dock at Newport -- I wanna ride! Haven't seen anyone there, but we were in and out this weekend...didn't stay on the boat :sad

AHA! C-Brats they are...Kent Lacey from Old Lyme, CT owns the Stafford H -- hope we get to meet them :-)

Hi Folks,

While I was walking to the Nantucket Ferry Boat this afternoon from my parking space, I spied the roof of a boat, and thought it must be a C-Dory. I was right. The first sighting on Cape Cod of a 22' C-dory other then my C-Dory, INN-THE-WATER. Name on her was RETRIEVER. Left a note, and going to try to chase the owner down.

These C-Dory's are getting around.

Thank You Mike and Judy,

Talked with Phil Dougherty the owner of Retriever today. He LOVES his C-Dory. Use to own a SeaRay. Now a C-Dory. He is a very smart and happy man.

Thank you for your help.

Robbin and I were heading back from eastern Oregon, just outside of Zillah, Wa on I-84 we saw SunFish heading east. It sure makes your head snap even today when I see another C-Dory.

We're winding down on a 8 day Gulf Islands BC cruise. Surprised to see only two C-Dorys. We spotted Sailor-D in Ladysmith. During our two night stay in Ganges, we've seen OOPS twice.

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary with a nice dinner at House Piccolo in Ganges last night. it was heavenly!

Admiral Mary spotted Hammerhead being towed near Sonoma CA about 7pm today, 6/25 and had to call me in San Diego to report the sighting.

One a quick trip up the west coast I saw 2 C-Dory's on moorings in Trinidad, CA - just north of Eureka.

We also went to Brookings, OR. It is touted as the safest small boat habor on the OR coast. I saw a C-Dory named Fire Drill and another at the docks.

Came into Northport, MI harbor on evening of 6-29. Saw KESTREL docked at A dock. Never saw owners in several trips to shore (I was on "the wall.") I left AM of 6-30. Nice gray 22.

If y'all on the I-5 corridor watch real close, you might sight the TyBoo heading out for a real vacation!

JOURNEY ON from San Diego - just spotted your CD moored at P Dock in Squalicum Harbor. So if you read this tonight, we'll try to get back down there tomorrow morning after we return the grandsons to their parents.
Hope you're enjoying your stay here. It's a beautiful evening in Bellingham.

Waters been rough out on the pond this weekend. My son drove up from L.A. and we were going to go to the rifle range today. Closed. Darn! We drove in to Santa Barbara Harbor to look around.
Met up with Ron (Islander) and we looked at a new TC255 in a slip in Santa Barbara. Blue with honda 150"s Its reg # CF 3443 (XX) No one around, don't know who's boat. It had a seat cushon on the galley? Looked like the stove may have been inset to allow extra seating?

Noticed a green trimmed CD-22 going north on I-5 about 4 miles north of Redding today at 3 p.m. Couldn't catch a name, since we were going in the opposite direction and the freeway lanes were wide apart. Joe.
