C-Dory Sightings

Thanks Pat and Peter for invites to the Poulsbo CB gathering! Talking with Pat was a reminder of the warm welcome my wife and I received when we met you guys at the Taproom a couple of years ago. I would like to participate but I'm just in Bellingham this week to visit my dad and sister. (No boat this time) In addition to shopping at LFS yesterday, I also went to the new C-Dory factory in Fairhaven and talked with Greg Little (NMI production Manager). I was impressed by how well the new shop is organized and that Greg took the time to show me around.

I had a pretty cool day yesterday.:thup

Last Sat. on a trip from Ninilchik to Anchorage we met 7 C-Dorys in the 200 miles. The last one being a new looking 25-5 TomCat. Next day we saw another going through Anchorage Lots of them on the road up here.

Last Tuesday saw a 22 cruiser in a slip in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia named Christene Ann. We were doing some recon for a cruise on the South Coast next summer. Would appreciate some local knowledge if the owner is in this Pub.

We are in Sitka tonight, and for the next 6 days. WX and the fourth of July celebration have us on hold. We are parked next to a TomCat 24, 1999, named "Brykels". A search here doesn't come up with anything. There are at least two of the Hunkydory pre C-Dory boats here in the harbor. The Salmon season for Kings opens on July 1st. Lots of activity in the harbor. The Sitka Harbors can hold 1600 boats, many of them will go out tomorrow for the opener of King season.

A rare 27' C-Dory Cruiser with the name Tiki Bah has been anchored out in Andrews Bay (Lake Washington) for the past few days.

See our album for larger pics if interested.

The boat is registered on the site but I don't know if it's the same owner out on the water because the boat was listed in 2013.

I bumped into the Nutty B (Cape Cruiser 26) in downtown scenic Canby, Oregon today. They were on their way to boating, I was on my way to make sure the idiots in the neighborhood don't burn down my house with illegal fireworks. It's in the high 90º range and very, very dry.

I am jealous!!

We anchored next to Brent and Dixie, and Jay and Jolee in Red Bluff Bay. I have some great pix of them in the morning fog. Will post when I get them where I can send a link. We are currently in Sitka.

Spotted In Cahoots with Cheryl and Roger in downtown Nanaimo today
Enjoying the Silly Boat regatta here and seeing the town
They'll be heading south for Ladysmith gathering
Also spotted Ross and Christy on Pacific Wanderer yesterday in Nanaimo Harbour

Just got back from a fishing trip in Quatsino Sound. 3 slow days followed by a crazy last evening bite with multiple double headers of 16-20 lb chinook!
Ran into Checkpoint II (19 Angler) in Winter Harbour and fished together off and on for a couple of days!

Spotted Hunky Dory traveling west on Highway I-90 just outside Butte Montana on Wednesday 8/12/2015. How exciting to see a C-Dory in Montana. I was traveling east hauling a horse trailer. The lettering was large enough to be able to identify the boat with ease. Hope your trip was uneventful!

Craig & Julie, we were on the return from a 61 day cruise in Southeast Alaska, leaving home in Wyoming on June 6th & when near Butte on August 12th headed east on I90 to friends in Boseman, followed by Yellowstone Lake & finally home on August 17th. We stopped for fuel near Butte & it would have been great to chat for a few

Travelling from Sointula yesterday we saw C Fury and chatted on the radio, later passed Ari on the highway
Lots of c dory's in the Broughtons this year

I saw lots of C-Dorys on my Vancouver Island trip. A beautiful Center Console 22 out of Campbell River with no name on the boat, and a nice young family. I saw Sea Harmony at Telegraph Cove, a nice looking blue stripe 22 cruiser, and I'll let that owner tell you about the name -- be sure and ask because it is a neat story. There was another one with a good story anchored among the rocks on the north side of Johnston Strait, not far from Telegraph Cove; "Rover", a Cabernet stripe with a very popular young lady claiming ownership. There were a couple in Port McNiel on the dock, and I saw another at the dock in Campbell River. I passed C-Fury, an green stripe 22 Cruiser with a green camper back , headed north on Hiway19, toward Port McNiel. (Hope the fishing turned to catching for you Blake).

Spent a good (in many ways), part of a week cruising with George and Carolyn (Kerri On) in the Broughtons, and enjoyed Fish and Chips with them at Port Harvey, which is an excellent stop, super food, and fresh baked, warm, great, bread.

A newly purchased, red stripe 22 Cruiser, C-Gypsy was an excellent travel partner for a trip from Port Alberni down the inlet and around in the Bamfield area and Sandra was a great anchoring coach.

I really enjoyed the buddy boat times and learned a lot on both sides of the Island.

There was a black striped 22 Cruiser headed to Zladysmith for 1 night, and then to Winter Harbor for a couple weeks of fishing, that crossed to Vanc Isl with me on the ferry.

Saw a beautiful C-Dory 25 at the Cabrillo Way Dry Boat Storage in San Pedro Ca. either being pulled out or measured for lifting straps. The boat was registered in Washington State but had no name, although there was a graphic listing C-Brats.com!

A gentleman named Chuck told us that it was his daughters boat but we had no time to chat as we were late for a dinner date and he was busy with the boat. He said that he thought the boat was named "Mischief" something but wasn't sure.

Just in case you, the owner, reads this Eiko and I would just like to welcome you to the area. Our boat, Far C'r is parked right next to the office and we are down there quite a bit so if you see us say hello!

Saw a C-Dory 22 heading northbound in the southern branch of the Elizabeth River (Chesapeake, VA area) on 10/17/15, at around 0900. I was underway with my niece and great niece, for an overnight trip down the Dismal Swamp.
I did hail the twin (Honda) engine C-Dory several times on VHF channel 16, but there was no reply. Also, the lock keeper for Deep Creek Locks, stated that he observed the same boat that morning, but it did not lock through.
Who is this mystery boat?

Yesterday afternoon, I spotted a brand new 255 Tomcat with grey trim that looked somewhat unfinished, as well as a SeaSport of similar size, both on a flatbed truck headed southbound I5 through Marysville. They were very shiny and neither had outboards yet, and looked a little unfinished. Must be new builds from NMI
