C-Dory Sightings

We could have had a mini-CBGT in Olympia on Saturday. We saw Capital Sea, Dances with Waves, DogHouse, and C-Change between Swantown Marina and Anderson Island.

Stopped at Yellowstone Lake Marina yesterday. Saw "Farwest 11" sitting in slip there. Also spotted another 22 cruiser ( blue trim) cruising out of the marina going under the bride. Couldn`t make out the name. Absolutley beautiful day. I was envious.

Have Never seen a Tom Cat before except in pictures.

Saw one yesterday, Just a quick glimpse (Friday July 8th) shortly after leaving #10 locks, adjacent to Guttenberg, Iowa, heading south (down river).

Looked like a black or dark blue stripe, probably 300 yards away, could not tell for sure.

Saw Fishwife, a 22 cruiser, anchored on the Banana River Friday the 8th to watch the last space shuttle launch. The launch was great. I swam over and talked to Skip on Fishwife for a few minutes. It was good talking to another brat from the panhandle of Florida.

I was photographing brown pelicans at Garibaldi, when this nice older CDory came through. I spoke with the owner at the dock, and he is not a Brat, but I will send a link along with the photo to see if we can lure him in.

On the way home from a trip with my wife and handicapped daughter to Yellowstone, (boat-less), we went past Coulter bay marina to say hi to Capt. Ron of the Wild blue crew. Nice guy, I wonder how much he pays to be allowed to run that tour boat all summer?

In any case, while on the way out of the Tetons, a white and brown and greenish 22 went by the opposite direction. I immediately turned to my wife and suggested that within two weeks we needed to be back on Jackson lake with Still Crazy. What a gorgeous place for a CD.

Saw Nor/Irish leaving Coulon Park ramp today at noon. What size is that boat with its 135hp motor? Maybe it's a Venture series 23, like Dan and Tanya's in the pic above.

I was driving north yesterday on the way to lummi island to serve papers on a guy, side job for a friend, and I spotted the only 22ft soft top c-dory going south on I-5. Very interesting boat. sure wish he would bring it to a gathering.

while heading south to go home I got a call from Don and Dee. They needed to find a tire shop open at 8 pm on a Sunday. Good luck. Funny thing was we where only about 2 miles behind them on the highway. He had blown a tire and had to put on a spare but the spare was looking really bad. So we offered to give them my spare from the trailer at the house, boat is in the marina, to get them home. Only problem is that my tires are 14 inch and his are 15 inch so no joy there. We end up having them stay the night at our house in the guest room and then went to les Schwab in marysville this morning for two new tires. Les schwab had them in and out in 20 minutes. So Don was on the road at 9:40 this morning heading south hoping not to hit traffic. Nice to have visitors at the house.

Saw a cute 16' on the lake on Sunday while we were out. Didn't catch the name but it something like S_____ -C. The first word started with S. Could not find a 16 with C at the end in the member list.
