C-Dory Sightings

Saw a C-Dory 22' (I believe) with green trim on the Cumberland river (Old Hickory Lake) headed up river about mile marker 230 Saturday when I was at my dock waxing C-Pearl. I tried to get them on the radio but no luck. Could not see a name on the boat.

Saw 3 today , I was delivering a 26 CC to a new C Brat from South Florida and Jim was there with his Venture 26 Morningstar and there was Dave on his CC 23 Sea-Dation .We looked like a mini gathering .

MASSACHUSETTS - Friday evening May 27 just before sunset on the Mass Pike I saw a green 22 Cruiser headed West, just west of I-91. First C-Dory I have passed on the road. Unfortunately, I was traveling with another woman in tow, our 20' Lund Alaskan, having left the Sea Hag (22' Cruiser) home on the St. Lawrence River for the long weekend and taking the Lund to RI for some fishing and clamming.
Who was that on the Mass Pike heading West?

We were at Bremerton Marina with Totem Y. C. this weekend.
I returned from shore with our dogs and everyone asked me if I knew the C-Dory that cruised through. They said it had a colorful dinghy on top and asked me if it was one of those Portland Pudgy things. Well that narrowed the field down to Aurelia of course, and I gave 20 minutes of kudos to Aurelia and her Crew, and the rest of the C-Brats. I could have done hours, but I'm breaking in the uninitiatiated slowly. A little Kool-aid at a time.

Came all the way across the country and saw a C-dory here in Cape Cod.

Grey, 25' (I think) name Retriever in Hyannis Harbor.

Beautiful day, if they could have been out on the water...

C-weetness is down for a week as the oil pump in the port engine is being replaced. On the way home from West Coast Marine I saw Rana Verde and Haylcyon on Roeder Avenue. It was great to see two C-dorys riding along together.

Yep - no secrets in this C-Dory world. If Osama had a C-dory, he'd have been nailed years ago.

Halcyon 'merged' with Rana Verde on the I-5 yesterday - we came up from Lake Powell and Chris from San Diego. Met within 20 minutes of each other at the rest stop. Now at p dock in Bellingham and getting ready to head out.

Discovery will launch Monday 6/6 from Blaine harbor. The boat is now in Ferndale at the C-Dory factory getting bottom paint. We looked at it yesterday (6/3) and they really do a nice job. It was strange seeing a TomCat 4' in the air, supported by 4 steel post jacks. Sorry no pic. They were just finishing up the paint on the Armstrong bracket. Back on the trailer Monday mid day, then two months in the waters of British Columbia. Hope to go as far north as Port Hardy. Plan to meet other C-Brats at Echo Bay, Jennis Bay and Sullivan Bay. If only this beautiful sunshine could last another two months.

Had a nice visit with Patrick (Salmon Fisher) and Kim of "Kim Christine" on the dock at Everett Saturday.

You can tell the guy from Texas....he is the one with coat.

Great to meet Herb, Willie and Jake when we came back in after a Saturday morning cruise up to Langley area. Lots of sailboats and a good breeze, too.
That Golden R-27 is a real looker. It was fun to see all the boats cruise by with people pointing and talking, no doubt saying what a cool boat it is.

Have a great summer, Stark Family, and hope to see you again around the area!

Spent saturday night and sunday at Detroit Reservoir, fishing for kokanee. Hadn't caught any in that reservoir for many years but picked up a nice one a few weeks ago so decided to target them and forget about the planted rainbows. Caught five really nice kokanee, but the main thing was the fun of just being out on the boat and having the same experience the gentleman in wisconsin had. One more month to retirement, then total C-Dory immersion.

Discovery launched June 6th in Blaine Harbor. Very nice facility with friendly folks. We spent the night in the marina and left the harbor on Tuesday morning. The crossing to Active Pass was a bit lumpy and rainy but the boat handled it fine. We thought we could clear customs at Ganges, but that is only with a can pass. We went to Poets Cove at Bedwell and cleared customs by phone--piece of cake! Was also able to buy a fishing license. We spent the night on a mooring ball in the National Marine Park. The weather was beautiful along with the scenery. This place is really spectacular. We moved to Herring Bay on Ruxton island yesterday with another great night on the hook. Today we are enjoying Nanamino and posting from the Serious Coffee House. Good coffee and Latte. We are hoping to meet GHone later. The trip is going great and in case I haven't said it lately "I love this boat!"

By the way, the factory did a terrific job on the bottom paint. They were nice to work with and very prompt.

We are looking forward to seeing the other C-Brats up here.
